Trilogy Federal is seeking a Senior Integration Lead/Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ideal candidate will be a skilled technical leader with expertise in system integration, troubleshooting complex integration issues, healthcare interoperability, and platform development, thriving in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This role requires a collaborative, solution-oriented professional to join our team, designing and implementing integration solutions that connect VA corporate IT systems, including legacy applications, healthcare platforms, and DevSecOps-driven initiatives. 

The selected Sr Integration Lead/Engineer must hold at least one of the following Salesforce certifications: Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, as well as both the HealthShare Health Connect HL7 Interface Specialist Certification and the InterSystems IRIS Core Solutions Developer Specialist Certification. This position will ensure seamless data exchange and system interoperability, aligning with VA’s Veteran-focused Integration Process (VIP) Lean-Agile framework to deliver integrated, Veteran-centric IT solutions. This position is contingent upon award and may require occasional customer site visits in Washington, D.C. 

Please note this position is contingent upon award (Q3/Q4 2025).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement integration architectures that connect VA corporate IT systems, leveraging Salesforce, HealthShare Health Connect (HL7), and InterSystems IRIS platforms. 
  • Develop and configure interfaces using HL7 standards to enable healthcare data interoperability between VA systems, ensuring accurate and secure exchange of patient and operational data. 
  • Lead the integration of Salesforce-based solutions (e.g., CRM, custom apps) with legacy systems and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), supporting VA’s operational and customer service needs. 
  • Engineer solutions using InterSystems IRIS to process, store, and integrate complex datasets, optimizing performance and scalability for VA corporate services. 
  • Collaborate with Solution Leads, Data Architects, and DevOps teams to embed integrations into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and Agile workflows. 
  • Ensure compliance with VA security and privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, HIPAA), implementing secure data flows and access controls across integrated systems. 
  • Utilize VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow) to document integration designs, track progress, and contribute to Biweekly Status Reports on integration status and issues. 
  • Provide technical leadership during Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives), aligning integration efforts with the VIP Lean-Agile framework and sprint deliverables. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to VA operations and high availability of interconnected systems. 
  • Support the adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., APIs, microservices, AI-driven integrations) to enhance VA OIT’s modernization and interoperability goals. 
  • Work with VA stakeholders, including the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), to define integration requirements, validate solutions, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes. 
  • Mentor team members on Salesforce administration, HL7 integration, and IRIS development best practices, contributing to Trilogy’s staff development and technical excellence initiatives. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • One of the following Salesforce certifications required: Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder; plus HealthShare Health Connect HL7 Interface Specialist Certification and InterSystems IRIS Core Solutions Developer Specialist Certification required; additional certifications such as MuleSoft Certified Developer or SAFe Agilist preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in system integration, interface development, or a related role, with a focus on federal, VA, or healthcare IT environments. 
  • Proven expertise in Salesforce configuration, HL7 interface development, and InterSystems IRIS solutions, with hands-on experience in API development, ETL processes, and cloud platforms. 
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex integrations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 
  • Familiarity with VA security standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST, HIPAA) and the VIP Lean-Agile framework is highly desirable. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow). 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements and travel occasionally to VA sites in Washington, D.C., as needed.
