About the Role: 

First Connect is launching a new education initiative, First Connect University (FCU), and we are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Instructional Designer to lead its development and ongoing management. This role is perfect for an experienced learning professional who can not only design and build a world-class educational curriculum but also serve as a thought leader and project lead for this critical business initiative. You will be instrumental in defining the learning strategy, establishing best practices, and creating a learning experience that empowers our agents to grow their business on First Connect. This is a unique opportunity to build from the ground up and have an outsized impact on key growth metrics.

What You’ll Do:

  • Program Architecture: Design and oversee the development of a comprehensive learning program for new and existing agents, covering everything from insurance basics to advanced product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Content Development and Procurement: Apply advanced instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create (or purchase, when necessary) highly engaging and effective learning solutions, including e-learning, video, and instructor-led training.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with stakeholders to identify learning needs and secure buy-in for key initiatives. Partner closely with subject matter experts across the organization to translate complex insurance concepts, product knowledge, and technical workflows into clear, digestible, and compelling learning experiences.
  • Platform Ownership: Own the evaluation, selection, and implementation of an LMS solution that can grow along with us. Manage the LMS design and build-out and act as the technical lead on an ongoing basis.
  • Project Management: Create and manage timelines, project scope, KPIs, and provide regular project updates.
  • Evaluation & Optimization: Use data and agent feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum, content, and LMS experience; continually optimize toward KPIs.

What You Bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, with a track record of leading major learning initiatives.
  • 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry and a strong understanding of P&C products, agency distribution, and regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience in LMS design, content management, and technical platform Management
  • A passion for building blended learning solutions with a focus on multimedia integration (audio, video, motion graphics).
  • Exceptional project management skills and a proven ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines.
  • A background in data analysis and data visualization, using insights to inform learning strategy and design.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the organization.

The base pay range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs, and market demands.
