Position Summary:

The Senior Instructional Design Specialist manages multiple training development projects at the site and global levels for KBI’s scientific, technical, operational, and support functions. This position is responsible for the end-to-end management of training programs, including analyzing training needs, designing programs, creating course assets, supporting instructors, and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of training programs. The Senior Instructional Design Specialist will serve as a training design and development SME for the Global Training team and will collaborate cross-functionally with Qualified Trainers and functional team leads across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage the analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs.
  • Develop content for training programs including design documents, storyboards, job aids, videos, instructor guides, audio scripts, speaker notes, policies, procedures, and course content. Collaborate with SMEs from multiple sites and business functions as needed.
  • Use a variety of software programs (including Articulate 360 and PowerPoint) to create and modify computer-based training courses that incorporate visual, audio, video, and interactive elements.
  • Design training programs for asynchronous or synchronous delivery of instructor-led, computer-based, and On-the-Job training. Incorporate adult learning theory and instructional design best practices and methodologies to determine appropriate modality, format, and structure of programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify and prioritize training needs.
  • Evaluate and analyze the results of training programs. Deploy evaluations and use data analysis tools for major initiatives.
  • Responsible for instructional design of site and global training courses and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • BA/BS and 7+ years’ experience or MS and 5+ years’ experience in a Training role, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Instructional Design is required.
  • Pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or medical device industry experience preferred.

Salary Range: $84,000 - $105,000

Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range. KBI has a robust total rewards strategy which includes an annual bonus structure for all employees, medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid PTO and holidays, 401K matching with 100% vesting in 60 days and employee recognition programs.
