This role supports WIMT's modernization initiatives by designing, building, and operating automated infrastructure and platform solutions across Windows/Linux VM and OpenShift (OCP) environments.
This position is a hands-on technical individual contributor role, responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and repeatable infrastructure capabilities while operating within a regulated financial services environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong execution skills, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across platform, application, and operations teams.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code solutions supporting VM-based and container-adjacent workloads, including OpenShift (OCP)
- Design and implement intelligent automation for infrastructure platforms including integrating AI and agent-based systems into operational workflows.
- Implement AI-driven tooling to enhance observability, predictive maintenance, vulnerability remediation, and environment modernization, enabling infrastructure teams to move from reactive operations to proactive, self-healing systems.
- Build and support automation for Windows and Linux server environments across on-prem and private cloud platforms
- Contribute to standardized infrastructure patterns and reusable modules aligned to WIMT and enterprise architecture direction
- Integrate infrastructure automation with enterprise CI/CD and delivery pipelines to enable repeatable, auditable deployments
- Collaborate with platform, cloud, network, security, and application teams to implement infrastructure solutions that meet functional, security, and compliance requirements
- Develop and maintain automated validation and testing for infrastructure code
- Monitor configuration drift and support automated compliance and remediation processes
- Support infrastructure components that enable container platforms, including ingress, load balancing integration, and supporting services
- Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for supported infrastructure services
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or SRE roles
- 4+ years Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible (preferred), Chef, or similar
- 4+ years in at least one operating system environment:
- Linux administration (RHEL preferred) or
- Windows Server administration
- 4+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby
- 4+ years knowledge of Git-based version control, including pull requests and peer review practices
- 4+years of infrastructure-as-code concepts, including modular design and environment consistency
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting private cloud or hybrid infrastructure platforms
- Familiarity with OpenShift (OCP) or Kubernetes-based platforms
- Exposure to app-to-container modernization or hybrid application environments
- Experience working with enterprise security and compliance standards
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, reliability, and operational support practices
- Awareness of responsible AI usage, including security, validation, and accuracy considerations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Prior experience in financial services or other regulated environments
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
