About the role
  • As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Infrastructure Engineering team, you’ll be building infrastructure solutions to accelerate the development of Underdog’s cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows
  • Design, build, and maintain key cloud infrastructure systems including distributed storage, distributed compute, database, caching and delivery network  infrastructure while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
  • Accelerate developer productivity by building best in class tooling, infrastructure, and automation workflows
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand core system requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability mechanisms to ensure the health and performance of Underdog’s application infrastructure
  • Research and keep up to date on emerging technologies and trends and focus on iteratively implementing them into Underdog’s systems
Who you are
  • 5+ years experience building distributed computing and distributed data storage infrastructure on a cloud environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • 5+ years experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, ECS, or Docker
  • Strong familiarity containerization, SQL Database and monitoring/observability platforms.
  • Experience working with networking in private cloud environments and enabling cross account VPC peering functionality between multiple cloud accounts
  • Expert with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation)
  • Experience being on an on-call rotation
  • Proficiency with Ruby/Rails, Typescript, Python, or other OOP languages (at least 2)
Even better if you have
  • Strong interest in sports
  • Prior experience in the sports betting industry
  • Experience with managing load spike traffic patterns


Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $240,000, plus pre-IPO equity.  Our comp range reflects the full scale of expected compensation for this role. Offers are calibrated based on experience, skills, impact, and geographies. Most new hires land in the lower half of the band, with the opportunity to advance toward the upper end over time.
