Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud

Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and similar, to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure resources. Define infrastructure components and security policies, enabling consistent, repeatable, and scalable infrastructure deployments.
  • Container Orchestration: Utilize Kubernetes and other container orchestration platforms to automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications and microservices.
  • Cloud Infrastructure and Networking: Manage multiple cloud infrastructures and networks to support software development teams needs. Design, develop and maintain networking across clouds, set up and maintain shared networking services like DNS and API gateways and partner with security to implement and enforce network security controls.
  • Developer Experience: Develop tools and automate processes to increase efficiency and reduce toil for the developer. Let the system work for you instead of fighting it.
  • Multi-Cloud Deployments: Architect and manage multi-cloud deployment strategies to achieve redundancy, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery across geographically distributed cloud regions while optimizing costs associated with cross-cloud data transfer and resource redundancy.
  • Secrets Management: Design and implement secure secrets management solutions to securely store, access, and rotate sensitive credentials, API keys, and certificates used in cloud environments.
  • Continuous Optimization: Optimize cloud infrastructure, CI/CD processes, and security practices to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance scalability, reliability, and security posture.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment of DevOps practices with business objectives. Document architecture, design decisions, cost optimization strategies, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
