About the Role

The Loan Origination Implementation Lead combines the responsibilities of Engagement Manager and Implementation Engineer into a single function with a singular focus on getting early customers live on Lemonade and Straight Through Processing. Prior experience in lending is a strong asset for the role.

There is zero expectation of prior enablement; this is a figure-it-out-as-we-go role.

The role requires a close working partnership with Product to determine what to build, not just implementing existing functionality.

It requires developing a deep level of expertise about how customers lend including Underwriting, Processing and Regulatory requirements.

About the Team

Our Professional Services team is a fast-paced team that implements Clutch's platform for our Credit Union customers. We gather requirements, build out the platform to their specifications, work with them to test and ensure it works as intended, and then get them live so they can realize value. We’re a team with a bias for Customer Success - our top metric isn’t getting customers live, it’s ensuring their success through renewal and expansion.

Professional Services team members should have high agency, a consultative approach to client implementations, a strong technical foundation, and be proactive communicators to ensure internal teams remain aligned.

Our company is rapidly growing, and so is our team. We’re looking for individuals who want to help us evolve as a team as we strive for a world-class delivery motion.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Complete onboarding and begin your first implementation alongside a tenured Implementation Engineer

  • Become familiar with our project plans and implementation processes

  • Kick off your first client project independently

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Lead your projects with confidence

  • Begin taking your first clients live

  • Applying learnings and becoming fully independent

  • Begin to help the team improve our documentation, processes, and develop new tools to improve our efficiency

Within 9 months, you will:

  • Be fully independent in your role, and working on areas to gather deep knowledge to become an SME

  • Be well into your second wave of clients - applying learnings from your first wave of projects so they run even better

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during implementation.

  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand lending policies, underwriting procedures, exceptions, and compliance requirements.

  • Train credit union staff on system functionality, rule behavior, and workflow setup.

  • Provide clear documentation, guidance, and status updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Implementation & Configuration

  • Lead the configuration of underwriting rules, decision trees, workflows, and lending logic within the loan origination system.

  • Translate credit union policies—including credit criteria, DTI thresholds, verifications, stipulations, and pricing logic—into structured system rules.

  • Set up product configurations for consumer, auto, credit card, home equity, and other loan types.

  • Map existing credit union processes to LOS workflows and recommend best-practice optimizations.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Build and execute test plans to validate underwriting rules and system configurations.

  • Assist clients with UAT (User Acceptance Testing), troubleshoot discrepancies, and adjust rules as needed.

  • Ensure implementations meet regulatory, policy, and internal quality standards.

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with internal product and engineering teams to relay client feedback and identify product enhancement opportunities.

  • Documenting business and technical requirements as needed for Product and Engineering.

  • Develop implementation templates, configuration guides, and repeatable frameworks.

  • Provide post-go-live support during stabilization.

Please note that this role may evolve as our business needs change, so we appreciate your flexibility and adaptability.
