As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain products, enhance backend systems, and scale machine learning platforms in collaboration with the CTO and engineering team.

HONK is seeking an experienced and versatile fully remote Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with our CTO and team of full-stack engineers to design, architect, and build new products and features. From enhancing our back-end RoR systems to scaling our ML-based dispatch platforms, you will drive the technical direction and play a critical role in our continued growth. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CTO and engineering team to design and architect new features and products.
- Develop and maintain our back-end dispatch applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Improve and scale our real-time, location-based systems and machine learning dispatch systems.
- Work across the stack, including building and integrating APIs, improving scalability, and ensuring performance.
- Write clean, maintainable code, and review and enforce best practices in system design and coding standards.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in full-stack development.
- Expertise in building highly dynamic web applications in an agile environment.
- Proven experience with Ruby on Rails apps, RESTful APIs, and real-time, location-based systems.
- Solid understanding of both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases.
- Hands-on experience with telephony apps (e.g., Twilio) is a plus.
- Experience with scalability and performance management of large-scale systems.
- Proficiency with modern tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead and mentor other engineers.
