Job Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer, Shopify

Location: 100% Remote

Timezone: EST (Eastern Standard Timezone) or PST (Pacific Standard Timezone)

Employment Type: Contract/Full-time (Immediate Joining)
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer, Shopify to join our remote team. You'll work directly with clients to understand their requirements, design solutions, and implement custom Shopify applications and storefronts. The ideal candidate has comprehensive experience across the entire Shopify ecosystem and modern web development stack.

Lazer is a remote organization. We welcome applications from all across the globe but our preferred candidates should be able to work in either Eastern or Pacific Timezone (EST or PST).

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify applications and integrations

• Create headless Shopify storefronts and theme customizations

• Work directly with clients to understand their business needs and technical requirements

• Architect and implement database schemas for Shopify applications

• Perform complex data migrations between platforms or within Shopify

• Collaborate with other developers, designers, and project managers and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members

• Stay up to date with Shopify platform updates and best practices

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Shopify Admin API and Storefront API

• Proven track record developing Shopify Apps using Remix or NextJS

• Expertise in Theme App Extensions and custom theme development

• Experience building headless Shopify storefronts

• Proficiency with React and TypeScript

• Strong database skills with PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM

• Experience with data migration between platforms or within Shopify

• Knowledge of GraphQL

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Strong client-facing communication skills

Technical Skills:

• Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS

• Frameworks: Remix, NextJS, React

• Database: PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM

• Shopify: Admin API, Storefront API, Theme App Extensions, App Development

• Tools: Git, GitHub Actions, VS Code, Postman

• Deployment: Vercel, GitHub Actions, Shopify CLI

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with React Native and Expo

• Experience with performance optimization for e-commerce

• Familiarity with accessibility standards

• Experience with internationalization and localization

• Prior experience at an agency or consulting environment
