As a Senior FrontEnd Engineer, you'll enhance online car markets by maintaining services, building applications, and managing user data with a focus on user experience.
Our customer is the European online car market, with over 30 million monthly users and a presence in 18 countries. As a Lead FrontEnd Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online car markets and enhancing the user experience for millions of car buyers and sellers.
Project Tech stack: JavaScript, React, Java, Spring Boot, Scala, AWS, TypeScript
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of existing services (e.g., bug fixes, security updates, improvements in Java, Scala, and TypeScript)
- Migrating legacy services to new technologies
- Creating and managing online ads for private users (Web)
- Running user profile services to store and manage user data
- Be able to communicate with UX Designer to challenge hard-to-implement design elements and agree with them on lower-effort alternatives
Requirements
- Be able to work independently, take ownership of features, and also be comfortable doing research and exploratory work when needed;
- Proficiency with React and TypeScript for web application development for at least 5-6 years, and over the last 1-2 years
- Good knowledge of JavaScript event handling
- Strong HTML and CSS skills
- Fluent English (at least Upper-Intermediate level)
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker/containers and AWS Lambda
- Experience with Kafka AWS
- Experience with Java/Spring Boot for building APIs and web applications
- Experience with REST
- Previous work experience with the relation Database and DynamoDB
Team Setup & Work Style:
- Agile methodology using Jira (product and tech backlog)
- Using Test-driven Development Methodology
- Slack for communication
- Team size: 5-8 developers, PM, UX designer, and QA support (part-time involvement);
- “You build it, you run it” approach (owning development, releases, and monitoring)
- Peer code reviews with quality checks
