Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Crimes Specialist. As a part of Wells Fargo's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team, the Global Sanctions Office is responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective global sanctions program for the company that complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations related to Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions. The Senior Financial Crimes Specialist, OFAC Sanctions is a critical role in helping to lead the bank’s global OFAC sanctions program execution and ensuring it aligns with both global regulations and internal policies. In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within functional area and contribute to large-scale planning related to functional area deliverables
- Investigate, research, examine, and report complex financial crimes transactions, policy violations and suspicious situations with high levels of risk
- Maintain measures of effectiveness and build data metrics dashboards
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes and internal controls
- Perform investigative research, root cause assessment and consulting regarding highly complex financial crimes transactions, policy violations and suspicious situations with moderate to high risk
- Perform detailed examination to detect transactional and relationship patterns, trends, anomalies and schemes across multiple businesses or products
- Develop and refine internal policies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet deliverables
- Partner closely with leadership to develop strategies to minimize financial crime portfolio risk through innovative methods with the ultimate goal of maximizing profits
- Provide leadership within the team
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Develop and deliver a wide range of training for individuals involved in issue detection
- Interact internally and externally to conduct investigations or to address risk management
- Provide administrative and data support
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and expertise in OFAC sanctions regulations, risks, and typologies
- Knowledge of investment banking, commercial banking, retail banking, or wealth management
- Knowledge of sanctions screening systems and applications
- Awareness of U.S. and international sanctions regulatory requirements including industry standards
- Experience developing and refining internal policies and procedures.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment
- Experience developing metrics and monitoring metrics and tracking data
- Experience developing dashboards through tools such as Tableau
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$84,000.00 - $164,400.00
