Position Summary

The Senior Finance Systems Specialist plays a key role in supporting Workday Financials at DISA. Operating within the Finance Controllership team, this position focuses on providing day-to-day system support, managing configuration updates, and developing custom reports to support financial operations. The role serves as a critical liaison between Finance, HR, IT, and other departments to ensure system integrity, optimize processes, and support ongoing system enhancements, including acquisition integrations and Workday release updates.

Essential Functions 

  • Serve as the first line of support on Workday Financials modules including but not limited to General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Business Assets, and Expenses.
  • Support day-to-day business process and configuration updates in Workday for Finance.
  • Create custom Workday reports for the Finance team.
  • Support on Workday release cycles, regression testing, and new feature adoption.
  • Support on future Workday phases and integrating new acquisitions into the finance systems landscape.
  • Provide day-to-day support for finance system issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution.
  • Lead escalation process of Finance support tickets with IT.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and process flows.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing system data and access controls documentation.

Key Skills & Experience 

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's preferred in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field .
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance/accounting and/or systems support.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with one or more Workday Financials modules (e.g., Core Financials, Procurement, Expenses).
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday reporting (custom reports, dashboards, calculated fields).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to partner with cross functional teams.

Training/Working Hours  

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm CST

Physical Requirements: 
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Walk (occasionally), sit- up to 8hrs. a day, stand (occasionally), use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, able to lift-up to 15lbs.(occasionally).
