The role partners with project stakeholders, internal customers, external vendors, and cross-functional teams. Facilitates a cross-functional team to execute defined deliverables and drives key decisions. Common deliverables typically include the project charter, scope definition, requirements documents, work activities, project schedule, risk register, communication plan, resource plan, risk management plan, procurement plans, project budget, quality control plan, status updates, reporting, and tracking. Uses industry recognized/generally accepted PM knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to achieve a project's stated objectives. Typically, does not independently deliver content or decisions which define final project deliverables. Will lead process improvement efforts and other internal initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads complex projects/programs with minimal supervision. These projects/programs can span across multiple departments or organizations
- Serves as a project level customer contact and works within a team to manage overall company customer interface relationships for defined scope(s) of work to ensure responsiveness to customer needs and effective professional conduct.
- Provides functional guidance to customers, consulting staff and management; will also perform as a project lead on advanced specialized projects or in resolution of technical problems that would critically impact performance, schedule or cost.
- Develops project schedules and documentation; defines and assigns work to engineers assigned to project; monitors and controls work in progress for technical adequacy; and provides active assistance to meet schedules or resolve complex technical or customer requirements.
- Accountable for overall performance and delivery of defined scope(s) of work with strict adherence to customer satisfaction goals, quality standards for products and/or services, level of profitability attained, and other such criteria and measures as may be designated.
- Establishes metrics and monitors progress to assure contract compliance, customer satisfaction and attainment of company commitments, goals, and objectives.
- Develops and maintains relationships with new customer contacts and conceptualizes solutions to customer problems that lead to new business opportunities; actively identifies additional/expanded tasking with existing customers and defines technical and non-technical requirements for draft statements of work.
- Presents to executives, technical teams, and internal stakeholders by creating customer-facing decks and being able to comfortably present the information.
- Accountability for planning of resources for tasks, allocation, estimation, & scheduling.
- Oversees projects which have a typical cycle of 3 - 6 months or can be ongoing.
- Provides guidance and direction to other project team members outside of owned projects.
- Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
- Communicates major milestones and identifies potential project risks; conducts regular status meetings to review project activities; manages prioritization procedures.
- Sets and manages client expectations, managing and escalating issues and changes.
- Measures progress toward goals and revises project objectives; documents applying change control procedures.
- Evaluates the impacts and risks of changes from multiple perspectives, assigns tasks that are necessary to reduce or eliminate those considerations, determines tentative implementation dates, and tracks results of the implementation.
- Develops methods to measure customer satisfaction; obtains feedback at critical milestones and at project completion to ensure that project efforts meet customer expectations for time, cost, and results.
- Documents and understands what the technical environment dependencies are for each project to support an end-to-end integrated environment.
- Accountable for tracking and managing the creation of functional designs; identifies risks and benefits of alternate designs; calculates costs/benefits of potential actions or solutions to establish their viability/ROI; assesses project impact of system changes on users and internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Defines and recommends steps for process improvement and more effective project / program management.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- BS/BA degree in a related discipline with 5 years' experience in an MSP industry and an additional 5 years' experience as a technical PM but the ideal candidate may have a combination of education and experience such as a master's degree and 3-4 years' experience or 10+ years' experience in a related field
- Proficient in MS Office, a CRM such as SalesForce, and PM tools
Preferred:
- MSP or cloud experience is strongly preferred
- Industry certifications applicable to cloud and network services as well as project management are strongly desired
