We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Product Data Platform team and lead a group of talented engineers who are responsible for surfacing insights and analytics to Atlassian's customers. Our team is responsible for real-time data & analytics platforms built on StarRocks, and powers many data experiences across Atlassian's enterprise product offerings including Atlassian Analytics, and embedded analytics (Jira, Confluence, Focus, etc).
That's where you come in. We're looking for an engineering manager experienced at leading a team of software engineers doing platform development. You will manage a team of roughly 10-15 engineers within Realtime Data & Analytics. We are excited to have you join our team!
Responsibilities:
  • Empower your team to develop new features and products that are used by customers every day.
  • Take responsibility for delivering on the projects and outcomes that are the focus of your teams while maintaining a high bar for operations (reliability, cost, support).
  • Collaborate with product managers, platform partners, and other engineers to deliver high-quality experiences to our customers.
  • Work alongside a team of engineers, contributing to the team culture through your passion, creativity, and experience.
  • Learn and grow as an manager through various career development opportunities.

Expectations:
  • 5+ years of managing a software engineering team.
  • Strong software engineering background.
  • Experience building web applications and services.
  • Ability to collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to create an amazing product.
  • Understanding of agile software development methodologies and practical experience using those methodologies to deliver software.
  • Performance management experience coaching and mentoring others to help them become better software engineers.
  • Prior experience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring great software engineers.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: USD 206100 - USD 269075
Zone B: USD 186300 - USD 243225
Zone C: USD 171900 - USD 224425
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
