Job Description SummaryThe Accessories Product Definition Engineering (PDE) team is seeking an experienced people leader to head the Mechanical PDE team and Quality workstreams. You will own end-to-end design and drafting execution—including creation of models, drawings, and bills of material (BOMs)—while managing 16+ direct reports in Greenville and additional contingent workers in the U.S. and India. You will also lead quality improvement initiatives across all the Accessories PDE workstreams, owning action plans to drive higher first-pass yield and reducing overall escaping quality defects (NCRs).

Job Description

As the Mechanical workstream leader and Accessories PDE Quality leader you will:

  • Set the long-term strategy and annual priorities, and establish monthly, weekly, and daily operating rhythms to meet customer and business objectives.

  • Align execution priorities with Design Engineering and fellow PDE leaders to ensure synchronized delivery.

  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables created by your team and driving a “get it right the first time” mindset through improvements in First Pass Yield (FPY) and preventing customer escaping defects (NCRs)

  • Empower your team to continuously improve their execution and standard work by applying Lean methodologies

  • Drive a consistent execution rhythm using Daily Management processes while maintaining a high Say-Do ratio for task completion.

  • Maintain the teams existing positive work environment, promoting GE Vernova’s One Team mindset in collaboration with other functions including: Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Sourcing and Quality

  • Own the Accessories PDE quality plan: increase first-pass yield (FPY), prevent escaping defects, and ensure timely containment and corrective actions for reported nonconformance reports (NCRs).

  • Meet business goals for standardization, direct release optimization and reduction of requisition hours.

  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and coaching. Ensure employees receive the training, support and guidance needed to continuously increase their responsibilities, technical contributions, and growth

  • Own team performance evaluations, as well as salary planning/adjustments and promotions.

  • Ensure timely communication of technical and business information among organizations and within the team.

  • Role model the GE Vernova Way: drive innovation, serve our customers, lean is how we work, win as one team, and drive accountability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or an equivalent STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant industry/domain experience Or a two-year degree with at least 15 years of relevant industry/domain experience
  • Prior direct people leader/supervisory experience
  • Demonstrates the GE Vernova Way: Innovation, Customers, Lean, One Team, Accountable

  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple (potentially competing) competing priorities
  • Proven experience using foundational lean skills/tools: Standard Work, Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, Problem Solving, KPI Development, Waste Identification
  • Gas Power Engineering tools knowledge:  CAD – Dassault CATIA, Siemens NX; PLM – Dassault, Siemens Team Center 
  • •Excellent communication and presentation abilities including working with large organizations and various levels of leadership
  • Experience in Gas Power Gas Turbine product design
  • Awareness of product definition processes and GD&T methodology
  • Working knowledge of Power Generation equipment
  • Flexibility in handling a diverse and challenging workload
  • Highly motivated and self-directing/self-starter
  • Substantial demonstrated capability in continuous improvement activities

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
