The Senior Engineering Manager - AEM and Personalization Platforms is accountable for the engineering, delivery, and reliability of Vanguard’s core digital experience and marketing technology platforms. This role leads Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform engineering and enterprise personalization and data‑collection capabilities, enabling secure, scalable, and personalized digital experiences across web and mobile channels. The position requires a balance of strong hands‑on technical expertise, people leadership, and enterprise‑level stakeholder partnership.

This role is essential to delivering Vanguard’s AEM Cloud transformation, enabling faster, more stable, and highly personalized digital experiences across web and mobile channels. Dedicated technical and delivery leadership strengthens enterprise personalization and data‑collection capabilities, directly improving the relevance and consistency of client interactions. Strong cloud engineering governance ensures resilient, scalable platforms that reduce client‑visible issues while accelerating time‑to‑market for client experience enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and delivery leadership for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform engineering, including architecture, development, integrations, performance, and platform operations. 

  • Lead engineering delivery for personalization and marketing data‑collection platforms, including Adobe Web SDK, Mobile SDK, Adobe Launch, and Adobe Target. 

  • Enable omni‑channel personalization capabilities across digital touchpoints, in partnership with marketing, product, analytics, and data teams. 

  • Establish and uphold engineering standards, governance, and best practices to ensure platform scalability, security, and reuse. 

  • Lead and develop engineering teams through effective coaching, performance management, and talent development. 

  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into reliable, enterprise‑ready technology solutions. 

  • Own delivery execution, dependency management, risk mitigation, and roadmap alignment to ensure predictable, high‑quality outcomes. 

  • Ensure platforms meet Vanguard security, compliance, resiliency, and operational excellence standards. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform engineering. 

  • Advanced web development expertise, including modern JavaScript frameworks, APIs, and cloud‑based architectures. 

  • Hands‑on experience with AWS Cloud, including designing, building, and operating scalable, secure cloud‑native solutions. 

  • Proven experience implementing enterprise‑scale personalization and data‑collection solutions across web and mobile channels. 

  • Demonstrated ability to design and operate platforms supporting high‑traffic, customer‑facing digital experiences. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluation. 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence across business and technology partners. 

  • Clear enterprise mindset, balancing local delivery priorities with long‑term platform strategy, risk management, and scalability. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AEM Cloud Service and cloud‑based CMS delivery models. 

  • Broader marketing technology ecosystem experience, including analytics, consent management, and platform integrations. 

  • Experience with web and mobile application development in large‑scale environments. 

  • Exposure to Agentic AI or generative AI‑enabled engineering
