Job Description SummaryThis role will be a key role within the product management function within the Pivot to Value (P2V) Value Engineer team and a critical part of the broader Gas Power safety, quality, delivery, cost and capacity imperative. Value Engineering members are organized into focused, small teams that identify process improvements, quality improvements, capacity improvements and cost-out opportunities. They then develop business cases, and build implementation plans with the appropriate functions to enable value capture while minimizing risk. Put very simply, this team will challenge the status quo on value to the company and shift the balance of the value equation towards costs, capacity and quality versus our historical bias towards pure machine performance. The Generator/Steam Senior Value Engineer will manage projects key to cost, quality and capacity to support organizational goals within Sourcing, Value Stream – Manufacturing and Engineering.
As part of this team, the Senior Value Engineer for Generators/Steam will translate functional requirements from Stakeholders (Customers, Supply Chain, Partners, etc.) and break down plant/product(s) into configurable modules/systems with defined interface control and design. They will drive configurability across the plant/product modules for cost effective business decisions optimizing the total value of our solutions while meeting market/customer needs. They will lead the process to make the right make/buy, do/buy, and/or re-use decisions – at a system/ module level – that defines and ultimately decides GE’s role in system/module fulfillment. They will influence, collaborate, and work closely with the horizontal functional partners to achieve the optimal and effective decisions.
Value Engineering is a practice focused on driving continuous value optimization and cost-out across GE Vernova Gas Power’s products and service offerings. Members of Value Engineering will are charged with identifying valuable features, functions & articles across the full portfolio & determining alternate means, methods & approaches to solutions with an aim towards unlocking the maximum value-based opportunity for GE Vernova.
