Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Documentation Specialist who will be part of a collaborative and agile team that supports and builds modern, usable, and responsive applications for mission-critical health IT solutions. This person must have a background in Section 508/Accessibility Compliance. We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset who can learn the product, help in writing, and is willing to learn how to help in various ways across the team outside of documentation management. 

Requirements:  

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation. 
  • Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States. 
  • Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years in supporting project documentation activities, or 8 years of experience will satisfy education and experience requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Abackground in professional, business, or government writing a plus.
  • Proven experience supporting agile software development teams
  • 3+ years of experience applying Section 508/WCAG 2.2 compliance to create accessible documentation (PDFs that pass JAWS and other screen readers)
  • Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools including:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
    • Atlassian Confluence and Jira
    • Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • Lucidchart, Visio, and Snagit for visuals and flowcharts
    • ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 CoPilot
  • Excellent organizational skills—able to manage multiple deliverables and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in communication with teams, management, and customers
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and processes
  • Familiarity with Federal Health IT programs, Medicare/Medicaid systems, and CMMI-compliant documentation preferred
  • Experience with project coordination and process improvement initiatives
  • Able to keep up with a fast-paced environment and learn new skills and topics quickly.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with management, peers, and customers, as well as demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change. 
  • Organized, efficient, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Naturally collaborative, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. 

Responsibilities:

Documentation Development & Management:

  • Create, edit, review, version, and maintain technical and project documentation to meet quality, accuracy, and compliance standards
  • Manage documentation lifecycle and version control across repositories (Confluence, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Produce clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content including:
  • Project plans, requirements, test plans, implementation guides, user manuals, reports, white papers, and interface control documents
  • Act as a scribe at project/team meetings to record decisions, questions, and action items.
  • Design and maintain Confluence pages with intuitive layouts, macros, and access controls.
  • Assist with training/troubleshooting peers as it relates to documentation and Confluence/SharePoint repositories. 

Accessibility / Section 508 Compliance:

  • Test documentation for accessibility per 508 Compliance standards using Adobe, JAWS or other screen reader tools, and correct documentation errors as needed to meet WCAG 2.2 compliance.

Project Coordination & Support:

  • Lead onboarding/offboarding processes and assist new team members in gaining system access.
  • Coordinate and document agile ceremonies, track action items and risks, and support project management administrative tasks
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts—identifying process, data, and documentation gaps and proposing efficient solutions.
  • Support Mission Assurance, gate review, and CMMI compliance efforts, including preparation for internal reviews and audits.

Technical Writing: 

  • Translate complex business and technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Ensure consistency in grammar, format, and style across all materials to meet Tria and client standards.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and analysts to produce content that supports product usability and comprehension.


Public Trust Clearance:

Many of our roles require the hired candidate to go through public trust clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is required to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship. 

Work Location:

Headquartered in Arlington, VA, we also have a primary office in Baltimore, MD for those who prefer to work on-site. However, with employees spread across 40+ states, we have many remote roles.
