Hey there! We're AKKO!

Our mission is to protect the devices the world relies on by relentlessly innovating to deliver an unparalleled digital insurance experience. AKKO enables partners and their end-users with modern and seamless protection solutions. We've become the #1 ranked provider in our space with industry- leading reviews and NPS scores.

With rapid growth and a fully remote team fueled by passion, innovation, and collaboration, we’re just getting started. Our investors—led by Mundi, Fika, and Pear—bring the same conviction that helped power companies like Doordash, Gusto, wefox, and Pipe.

We’re looking for a Senior Director of Telecom Partnerships to drive strategic growth through high-impact relationships across the telecom ecosystem. This role combines hands-on deal execution with leadership.

You’ll lead efforts to source, negotiate, and scale telecom partnerships while building repeatable frameworks for distribution and integration. The ideal candidate has deep experience in telecom, tech, and / or insurtech and a proven track record of creating B2B2C and embedded distribution with carriers, OEMs, and platform partners.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Source, negotiate, and close telecom partnerships that drive AKKO’s device protection and warranty plan distribution.
  • Own the full business development lifecycle — from prospecting and pitching through commercial and legal negotiation, contracting, launch, and scale — in close collaboration with Legal, Finance, Partner Success, and Product.
  • Work with telecom partners to develop pricing, packaging, and co-marketing plans — and work with Product/Engineering on integration paths (API, checkout, and customer experience flows).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure smooth launches and long-term partner success.
  • Help build the playbook: define ICPs, outreach frameworks, qualification criteria, and success metrics to enable scalable, repeatable partner growth.
  • Maintain market intelligence across the telecom and warranty landscape; feed partner and competitive insights into company strategy and product development.
  • Represent AKKO externally — build executive relationships, attend key industry events, and champion AKKO’s value proposition to telecom partners and stakeholders.
  • Track and report on pipeline progress, forecasting, and partnership performance, consistently meeting or exceeding growth targets.

WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED

  • 10+ years in partnerships or business development, including 5 years in a role within telecom, tech, or B2B2C distribution.
  • Proven success building and scaling telecom partnerships (carriers, OEMs, MVNOs, or platforms).
  • Mastery of full-cycle deal management — from sourcing to launch — and strong experience leading complex commercial and legal negotiations.
  • Skilled at navigating large enterprises and collaborating with internal stakeholders across Legal, Finance, and InfoSec.
  • Executive presence with strong storytelling and negotiation skills; able to influence and align with C-suite partners.
  • Highly organized, data-driven, and disciplined in CRM usage.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment; entrepreneurial, adaptable, and outcome-oriented.
  • Willing to travel for partner meetings, industry events, and team offsites.

The base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $170,000. Total compensation for this position is $200,000 or higher. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
