About the role

The Senior Director, Strategic Finance & Corporate Development is responsible for in-depth financial management, analysis, and strategic insights on Oscar’s overall business. This role is responsible for cross-functionally managing and driving our company’s Operating Committee to ensure the business is executing against its financial targets. This position requires a balance of strong financial acumen and insight generation with cross-functional collaboration skills used effectively across the business’ key stakeholders and other financial partners.

You will report to the Senior Vice President, Deputy CFO.

Work Location:

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $232,000 - $304,500 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $208,800 - $274,050 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.


Responsibilities

  • Operating Plan Development: 
    • Develop and track multi-year enterprise-wide Operating Plan, informed by enterprise Strategic Plan. Monitor progress against Operating Plan key metrics, own Operating Committee agendas, and drive follow ups to completion with critical stakeholders
  • Corporate Development:
    • Drive all corporate development efforts including evaluation of inorganic opportunities, including mergers & acquisitions, and potential strategic partnerships 
  • Financial and Capital Modeling:
    • Lead long-term enterprise-wide financial and capital modeling efforts to help make strategic decisions around future growth initiatives and opportunities
  • Strategic Initiative Evaluation:
    • Provide quantitative and qualitative evaluation of strategic growth initiatives, including new markets and business lines in conjunction with the Corporate Strategy team
  • Capital Markets: 
    • Support capital markets activity and Treasury team including potential equity and debt capital markets transactions based on business needs 
  • Leadership & Collaboration: 
    • Develop, manage, and coach a high performing Strategic Finance & Corporate Development team.
    • Collaborate and influence effectively with executive business line owners and Finance Leadership
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in analytical financial roles, with 5+ of those years being within a public company
  • 8+ years of demonstrated ability using expert financial modeling skills to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies, and financial plans.
  • 5+ years of corporate development experience 
  • 5+ years experience collaborating and influencing at the executive level

Bonus Points

  • Experience in similar roles, strategy consulting, or financial services background, e.g., private equity, venture capital, investment banking.
  • Healthcare experience and market knowledge strongly preferred,

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
