Position Purpose: Partner with local health plan leadership and marketing teams to successfully procure/re-procure Medicaid managed care contracts through best-in-class, insight driven marketing, media, and activations that demonstrate Centene’s commitment to address the health needs of local communities. Translate the long-term portfolio strategy into data-driven, multichannel marketing strategies for the Medicaid managed care plans across multiple regions, with the goal of growing member acquisition and retention. Partner with the Health Plan marketing teams to build and execute the annual marketing activations plans, ensuring an effective resource allocation, bold investments, and intense cost management.
  • Craft Medicaid health plans marketing strategies, including messaging, marketing communication, digital presence, relationship development, and ensuring content is adapted in-language, in-culture for the relevant communities
  • Design and execute the portfolio strategy for the multiple assigned regions to proactively communicate Health Plans’ state-based community impact to key stakeholders - Assure compliance with norms including regulatory, accreditation, and internal requirements and audits
  • Oversee a team responsible for executing the health plans marketing strategies across multiple regions
  • Ensure resources are effectively allocated and costs are managed efficiently while executing the annual marketing plans
  • Advise ways to advance the Medicaid managed product’s brand in the multiple regions assigned through industry trade publications, multi-channel engagement (digital, social, web, etc.), conference participation and other forms of advertising
  • Identify opportunities for scale and efficiencies in both non-working investment and media to support development and delivery of hyper-local content at scale
  • Gain deep market knowledge to optimize market-level media planning and buying with central media agency partner
  • Derive insights from assigned markets to inform marketing strategy and execution for national brands (Ambetter and WellCare), and serve as single corporate marketing/comms contact for Health Plans across all Lines of Business
  • Share learnings and best practices with state-based Health Plan markets and ensure adoption across the regional Centene community. Continuously train and upskill marketing teams at the Health Plans
  • Execute annual learning agenda to continuously upskill Health Plan marketing and communications teams for the region
  • Scan the media marketplace to keep up to date on the latest healthcare and marketing trends (Digital, social, media, web, email)
  • Equip all team members with training and coaching to analyze data effectively and generate impactful insights, holding talent accountable to clear goals and performance standards, and accelerating development of diverse talent through sponsored programs and active mentorship
  • Empower analysis to act with speed, agility, and accountability, ruthlessly cutting low value-added discussion, meetings, and work to enable strong focus on consumer & marketplace trends and critical action against key priorities

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred. 8+ years of relevant, progressive marketing and experience, including experience in organization and talent management. Healthcare industry marketing experience required. Proven ability to manage a complex portfolio and manage priorities and trade-offs preferred.

Pay Range: $145,100.00 - $268,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
