Alteryx is searching for a Senior Director, GTM Strategy Planning & Compensation. This position is remote-friendly.

Position Overview:

Alteryx is seeking a strategic, analytical, and collaborative Senior Director to lead our GTM Strategy, Planning, & Compensation functions. This people-leadership role will be pivotal in shaping and executing strategic initiatives that drive our global go-to-market (GTM) performance spanning Sales, Solution Engineering, Business Development, Renewal Management, Customer Experience, and Revenue Operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial planning or strategic consulting — preferably with an MBA —and thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, execution, and analysis of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for GTM strategy in partnership with Finance, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
  • Manage ongoing budgeting, expense forecasting, and purchasing/renewal processes for the GTM organization in partnership with Finance and Procurement, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial rigor.
  • Design and manage end-to-end GTM compensation planning and execution, including sales commission structures, performance metrics, sales incentives (SPIFFs), President’s Club selection, and pay-for-performance alignment.
  • Direct strategic planning initiatives across the GTM organization, including market segmentation, resource allocation, and investment prioritization.
  • Drive the development and evolution of route-to-market strategies to maximize reach and efficiency across direct, indirect, and digital channels.
  • Oversee and leverage the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure strategic projects are delivered on-time and achieve the stated goals.
  • Lead the continual optimization of GTM processes through the re-engineering of current processes and identification of the highest ROI areas to deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in GTM strategy, sales operations, or business planning roles, preferably within SaaS or software vendors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading strategic planning, process re-engineering, sales compensation design, and operational execution for the GTM function.
  • Superior strategic analytical and financial modeling skills, with a strong understanding of GTM metrics and revenue planning.
  • Strong process re-engineering and optimization skills, including the use of AI to automate and accelerate GTM processes.
  • Advanced ability to drive and manage through change.
  • Team player who contributes significant value in cross-functional initiatives as a leader or team member.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills for executive and/or Board audiences.
  • Innate ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.

Valued Skills:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Background in financial planning, consulting, or corporate strategy.
  • Experience rationalizing and optimizing Sales systems (e.g., Salesforce, Anaplan, Clari, etc.).
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, global environment.

Compensation:

comp: 230,000-250,000 plus bonus & Equity
