As a Campus Intern, you will enhance the technology experience at your university, work with the CDW Sales team, and receive training in a customer-facing role.

We’re looking for a strategic, high-impact leader to own and lead the enterprise-wide demand planning function, encompassing demand planning, inventory management, and ensuring continuity of supply. This person will be responsible for building a forward-looking, integrated demand signal that aligns sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance around a single source of truth. Unlike tactical forecasting roles, this position is focused on orchestrating the entire demand planning process, setting its rhythm, tools, and expectations, and elevating demand planning into a business-critical function. You will lead a small team, but more importantly, you will lead cross-functional alignment and executive-level decision-making through the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process. This position reports to the VP of Business Transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the enterprise-wide demand planning strategy, including process design, governance, and tool selection.
  • Lead the weekly demand planning cycle and demand review as part of the IBP process, creating alignment between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
  • Serve as the executive voice of the overall demand forecast—owning forecast assumptions, justifying variances, and ensuring all functions plan from the same data set.
  • Translate top-down strategic goals and bottoms-up forecasts into actionable demand plans across channels and categories.
  • Lead a high-performing demand planning team; coach and develop direct reports.
  • Lead scenario planning for key business decisions (e.g., new launches, promotions, retail commitments, product allocation or capacity constraints).
  • Partner with Operations on alignment between demand forecasts and limited supply.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Sales Operations to align on customer-level, SKU-specific forecasts, leveraging historical sales trends, current sell-through data, and projected account-level demand and promotions to drive forecast accuracy and inventory readiness.
  • Continuously assess and improve forecast accuracy, identifying root causes of error and implementing corrective action.
  • Own the implementation and optimization of demand planning tools and systems in collaboration with IT (e.g., NetSuite, forecasting software).
  • Demand Forecasting & Inventory Management: Utilize data analytics and forecasting tools to predict demand, optimize inventory levels, and minimize stockouts or overstock situations. Direct finished goods availability through the warehouse network.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on initiatives to enhance the supply chain processes, reduce costs, and improve service levels through the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with procurement, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless coordination across the supply chain and alignment with production schedules and customer needs.
  • Lead and/or participate in product life cycle management activities for the phase-in of new products and discontinuation of end-of-life SKUs – coordinating with other functions to maximize service and minimize inventory risks
  • Monitor, track and report key performance metrics such as inventory values, schedule adherence, obsolescence and service levels

What Success Looks Like

  • A reliable, data-driven forecast used as the foundation for supply planning, inventory decisions, and executive discussions.
  • A clear and repeatable weekly demand planning process with high cross-functional engagement and accountability.
  • A planning function that evolves from reactive to strategic—proactively guiding the business instead of chasing it.
  • Forecast accuracy improvement over time, with visibility into risks and opportunities that allows for better decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years in demand planning, S&OP/IBP, or supply chain leadership, ideally in high-growth CPG or food & beverage.
  • CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification or other supply chain education is preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and leading enterprise planning processes—not just executing within them.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with leadership, various stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Advanced understanding of forecasting methodologies, data modeling, and scenario planning.
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems (NetSuite preferred); capable of driving tool selection or system upgrades.
  • Strategic mindset with a bias for action—you balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution.
  • Experience managing and mentoring planning professionals.

Salary: $150,000-170,000 annually

Location: Remote, or hybrid if near SLC, Utah

Position Type: Full-time

Benefits:

  • Paid time off (flexible)
  • Paid holidays
  • Insurance: Health, dental & vision
  • 401(k) + Company match
