VideoAmp is on a mission to create the best employee and workplace experience where people can bring their whole selves to work every day. We believe that accomplishing something great requires a special group of people who work hard, drive results, and have a blast while doing it - people who challenge the status quo and embody our values. People who say, “I’ll find a way,” instead of saying, “it can’t be done.”
Our engineers are passionate about creating quality, trusted solutions as part of a collaborative and dynamic organization. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for growth and a high standard for their work.
At VideoAmp, we believe in challenging advertising paradigms to maximize value for clients. We do this by enabling companies to execute business outcomes across their media investment instead of more traditional media metrics. VideoAmp is the software and data solutions company powering the convergence of linear TV and digital video advertising. Our solutions connect linear TV viewership with addressable data assets to benefit the marketing and media industries. This enables marketers and content owners to holistically plan, transact, and measure deduplicated audiences across digital video, OTT, connected, and linear TV advertising.
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Director of Data Processing to lead our Linear and Digital Data Processing teams. This is a pivotal leadership role that requires deep technical knowledge of scalable data processing systems, hands-on architectural experience, and a strategic mindset to guide the transformation of our ingestion pipeline architecture.
As the owner of data ingestion systems, you will be responsible for spearheading the re-architecture of our data processing infrastructure, transitioning toward a unified platform written in Python and Golang, orchestrated using Temporal. You’ll bring deep industry context in television and streaming to ensure our solutions are not only technically sound, but also aligned with the evolving media landscape.
The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with a proven track record in leading large-scale ingestion or processing pipelines, building high-performance engineering teams, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCIES:
- Expertise in distributed data processing and ingestion at scale
- Strong programming background in Python and Golang
- Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks like Temporal.io
- Familiarity with streaming technologies and real-time or near-real-time pipelines
- Experience deploying on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Familiarity with the SCRUM process and available organizational tools
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the Linear and Digital Data Processing teams, guiding their day-to-day operations and long-term vision
- Drive the unification of data processing systems into a modern, scalable platform
- Establish and enforce best practices around data pipeline reliability, observability, and performance
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of ingestion capabilities
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to improve pipeline performance and efficiency
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, learning, and excellence
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders and individual contributors
- Provide technical leadership in cross-team design discussions and architectural reviews
- Support hiring initiatives and help attract world-class data and infrastructure talent
- Maintain awareness of media and advertising industry trends, using this insight to inform system design and priorities
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will be proficient in both people management and architectural proficiency.
Additionally, we highlight the following personal, professional, and technological characteristics the ideal candidate will possess:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, backend systems, or distributed infrastructure
- 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing multiple engineering teams
- Proven experience rearchitecting and scaling ingestion or ETL systems in production
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and data ecosystem components (e.g., Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Flink)
- Familiarity with the television, streaming, and digital advertising ecosystem is strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with Python, Go, and workflow orchestration tools
- Track record of managing large engineering organizations and delivering high-quality systems
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
