Job Title:Senior Director, Corporate Development & Strategy
Role Overview:
The Senior Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will be instrumental in driving the company's growth strategy through innovative market positioning, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and corporate initiatives. This role will work closely with the SVP Corporate Strategy & Development and other cross-functional leaders to identify and expand into emerging and adjacent markets, leveraging insights into evolving consumer needs and technological advancements in Consumer Online Security and related sectors. The Senior Director will support long-term strategic planning and contribute to the company's focus on innovation, ensuring McAfee maintains its leadership in a dynamic market and controls its long-term outcomes as a market-leading developer of Consumer Online Security products and solutions.
This is a Hybrid position located in either San Jose, CA or Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 1 to 6 times a month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to one of the two locations and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
About the role:
Corporate Strategy Development:

Collaborate with executives and functional leadership to evaluate business opportunities, including market expansion, margin optimization, new business lines, and other growth initiatives.

Facilitate effective decision-making through in-depth analyses, cross-functional collaboration, and regular communication of business insights.

Lead internal discussions with cross-functional teams to advance the company’s strategic priorities.

Develop and continuously evolve the company’s long-term strategy, focusing on sustainable growth and competitive advantage.

Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the strategic vision and translate it into actionable business plans.

Partner with product and technology teams to ensure strategic innovation aligns with customer needs and market demand.

Establish measurable objectives that align with company goals and track key performance indicators (KPIs) reflecting progress against strategic targets.

Lead the synthesis and development of materials and presentations for executive audiences that translate complex analyses, business cases, and financial forecasts into compelling narratives that aid in strategic decision-making
Portfolio Expansion and Innovation:

Monitor and assess evolving consumer behaviors, industry trends, and technology developments to shape future market opportunities.

Explore and evaluate adjacent markets that align with the company’s core capabilities, identifying new revenue streams and product extensions.

Develop strategic initiatives that respond to shifts in consumer technology utilization and the threat landscape, leveraging data and customer insights to inform forward-looking product and service innovations.
Acquisitions and Investments:

Identify, evaluate, and support M&A opportunities that enhance the company’s market positioning, technological capabilities, and customer offerings.

Participate in all aspects of the M&A lifecycle, from deal sourcing and negotiations to due diligence, valuation analysis, and integration planning.

Partner closely with integration PMO to ensure smooth post-merger integration, maximizing value and achieving strategic alignment between acquired assets and company objectives.

Work directly and in close collaboration with colleagues in strategic partnerships to build and manage relationships with key external partners, vendors, and industry leaders to execute on growth strategy
Competitive & Market Intelligence:

Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors, market trends, and industry shifts to inform the company’s strategic direction and response.

Ensure the organization is positioned as a market leader by anticipating disruptions and proactively adapting to industry changes, including integrating cutting-edge technologies and consumer-focused innovations.
Executive Reporting & Advisory:

Serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP Strategy and executive leadership team, providing regular reports, strategic recommendations, and updates on the execution of corporate strategy and development efforts.

Develop and present business cases and strategic plans, advocating for key initiatives and aligning leadership around growth strategies.
About you:
-
At least 15 years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience leading corporate/business strategy within a large consumer-oriented and product-based or technology-enabled organization. Alternatively, comparable and relevant experience within a well-regarded Management Consulting firm with some consumer-focused industry experience is acceptable.

Specific experience in business transformation and corporate development, with a strong emphasis on innovation, growth, and expansion into new and adjacent markets through M&A, partnerships, or de novo development.

Extensive experience in financial modeling, strategic rational presentations and business case development

Deep understanding of consumer and technology industries, including market dynamics, regulatory environments, and emerging trends.

Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable insights.

Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders.

High degree of adaptability and resilience, thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Ability to think critically about the company’s future direction, extensively curious and tapping into external primary and secondary research, identifying new opportunities, and crafting a strategic roadmap to capitalize on those opportunities.

Comprehensive experience leading all phases of M&A transactions, from strategic identification and valuation to deal execution and integration.

Proven ability to build, transform, and lead high-performing Strategy and Corporate Development teams – both within the organization and in collaboration with outside partners.

Excellent collaborative skills, with a track record of influencing and aligning cross-functional efforts towards shared objectives.

Financially savvy, aligning corporate strategy with company financial and growth objectives.
