The Crown Is Yours
As a Senior Director of Compliance, you'll play a defining role in building the future of regulated event-based markets. You'll help shape and scale a CFTC-regulated platform that enables customers to engage with outcome-driven financial products spanning political events, economic data releases, and sports-related hedging. Partnering closely with the VP of Compliance, you'll design and operationalize a best-in-class compliance program that protects our platform, strengthens regulatory relationships, and enables responsible innovation. Your leadership will help establish the standard for integrity and trust in an entirely new market category.
What You'll Do
  • Support the oversight, execution, and ongoing management of the compliance and risk program for DraftKings' prediction market offering, aligned with CFTC Core Principles and NFA requirements.
  • Own day-to-day regulatory compliance activities, ensuring adherence to the Commodity Exchange Act, CFTC regulations, and NFA rules.
  • Act as a primary day-to-day liaison with the CFTC and NFA, including supporting audits, examinations, self-certifications, and regulatory inquiries, in close partnership with the VP of Compliance.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to embed compliance requirements into product design, launch, and go-to-market activities.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls across areas including surveillance, AML/KYC, customer protection, and information security.
  • Help build and manage compliance operations, including hiring, developing, and mentoring regulatory, surveillance, and AML professionals.
  • Drive improvements to compliance processes, tooling, and systems-supporting automation, monitoring, and regulatory reporting as the business scales.
  • Prepare materials and insights for executive-level reporting on compliance posture, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Public Affairs on regulatory strategy, industry engagement, and advocacy efforts related to prediction markets.

What You'll Bring
  • 10-12+ years of experience in compliance, risk, or regulatory roles within a DCM, DCO, FCM, IB, fintech, or regulatory agency (CFTC or NFA experience strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience supporting the design, launch, or scaling of regulated market infrastructure or financial products.
  • Strong working knowledge of: Commodity Exchange Act (CEA), CFTC Core Principles, NFA Rules, Market surveillance, financial integrity, and compliance monitoring requirements
  • Experience participating in regulatory exams, audits, and reviews, including AML/KYC program implementation and surveillance frameworks.
  • Ability to engage confidently with regulators, internal stakeholders, and senior leaders, while knowing when to escalate and partner.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong ethical compass and interest in innovative market structures.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or advanced regulatory/compliance certifications a plus.
