What You Will Do:
- Support day-to-day project activities, including creating project plans, tracking schedules and deliverables under the direction of senior project managers.
- Assist in developing contingency plans for potential risks.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure service expectations and quality standards are met.
- Monitor project progress and escalate significant deviations to senior leadership.
- Contribute to project documentation and reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation and distribution of project documentation and reports.
What You Will Have:
- Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Working knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Project Administration: Working knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- IT Project Control and Reporting: Working knowledge of project control and reporting; ability to monitor the vital signs of an IT project while managing its progress and delivery schedule.
- IT Project Management: Extensive knowledge of project management; ability to plan, organize, monitor and control IT projects using appropriate technical resources.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
- A college or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Business, or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience preferred
- 5+ years of experience supporting engineering, technical, or digital project teams (Agile environment preferred).
- Familiarity with Caterpillar New Product Introduction (NPI / dNPI) processes and tools.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Excel to build dashboards and reporting
- Experience using MS Copilot across M365 apps to assist with automating processes
- Experience with project management concepts, including scheduling, planning, and reporting.
- Familiarity with software development tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Aha!, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse teams across a matrixed organization.
- PMP or Scrum Master certification is desirable but not required.
