Position Summary

As a Senior Art Director (Contract) working with Pace on this engagement, you’ll lead the creation of an immersive, strategically grounded digital experience from concept through launch. This particular engagement supports a high-profile website redesign for a major international entertainment brand, focused on creating visually immersive and highly interactive digital experiences with a “wow-factor”. You’ll partner closely with strategy, copywriting, UX/UI designers, and development teams to bring to life creative concepts across a variety of digital mediums


We’re looking for a candidate who’s as comfortable creating campaign concepts and visual systems as they are developing the creative concepts for immersive websites and interactive storytelling. We need you to take creative from early ideation through final execution. 

 

This role is ideal for a highly conceptual creatives who thrives in digital environments and understands how to bring brands to life in a digital ecosystem. We’re looking for someone with exceptional visual taste, strong conceptual thinking, and the ability to independently lead this creative initiative. 


We’re seeking an independent contractor with an LLC (REQUIRED) who is available to support the project at minimum through July 10. Candidates must live within the United States. A portfolio link is required in your application.



Essential Functions

Creative Direction & Concept Development 
 

  • Lead the development of creative concepts and visual approaches for digital campaigns, websites, and interactive experiences  
  • Collaborate with strategy, copywriting, UX, motion, and development teams to bring ideas to life across digital platforms  
  • Develop mood boards, visual territories, storytelling frameworks, and campaign concepts  
  • Work with a team of editors, UX/UI designers to create immersive digital experiences that balance brand storytelling, interaction, motion, and visual craft  
  • Contribute innovative thinking and creative recommendations throughout all phases of a project  
  • Ensure creative work aligns with brand strategy, audience expectations, and business objectives  

 

Digital Design & Visual Craft 
 

  • Lead the design of polished high-fidelity digital experiences across responsive web platforms  
  • Lead the integration of typography, photography, motion, video, animation, illustration, and interactive elements into cohesive digital systems  
  • Guide motion direction and interactive behaviors to enhance storytelling and user engagement  
  • Create scalable visual systems and design frameworks that maintain consistency across experiences  
  • Partner closely with developers to ensure design intent and creative quality are maintained through implementation  
  • Maintain a strong understanding of accessibility and ADA/WCAG best practices within digital experiences  
     

Collaboration & Leadership 
 

  • Present creative work confidently to internal teams and clients while articulating strategic and conceptual rationale  
  • Work independently while proactively collaborating across disciplines  
  • Provide senior-level creative thinking and guidance throughout the engagement 
  • Guide projects from concept through launch with strong attention to detail and creative excellence  
  • Balance creative ambition with technical feasibility, timelines, and business objectives  


Job Qualifications

Education

  • BA/BS in Interactive Design, Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, or related field  

Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in digital, interactive, UX/UI, or product design
  • MUST have an active LLC to be a contractor with Pace


Skills

  1. Exceptional visual design skills with strong foundations in typography, layout, composition, color, and digital storytelling  
  2. Strong creative conceptual thinking and the ability to develop campaigns and immersive digital experiences  
  3. Experience art directing responsive websites, interactive experiences, and digitally driven brand campaigns  
  4. Experience directing of motion design and a strong grasp of animation principles, and interactive behaviors within digital environments  
  5. Ability to direct and collaborate with motion designers, illustrators, photographers, and developers  
  6. Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint 
  7. Strong understanding of modern digital production workflows and front-end implementation considerations  
  8. Must be skilled and confident presenting creative work internally and be able to present “the strategic why” behind the creative and articulate the solve 
  9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail  
  10. Ability to work within and evolve established brand systems  
  11. Strong client-facing experience presenting concepts and creative work to stakeholders 
  12. Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision 
  13. Must be able to collaborate 
  14. Ability to model strong leadership skills
