What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll help design, build, and run reliable, scalable infrastructure with a strong platform engineering and SRE mindset. In this hands-on role, you’ll manage critical platform components (including cloud networking), automate manual tasks to reduce operational toil, and collaborate on technical decisions.

You’ll partner closely with application and security teams, stay deep in the systems you manage, and continuously work to improve reliability, performance, and security across the platform. Day to day, that means you’ll:

  • Contribute to platform engineering initiatives using Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD platforms and deployment pipelines to enable safe, low-risk releases.
  • Build and support observability foundations, including metrics, logging, alerting, and dashboards tied to service health.
  • Provision, configure, and operate scalable AWS infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT, and VPNs.
  • Support cloud networking and connectivity architecture, ensuring secure and reliable communication between services.
  • Configure and manage Cloudflare to support edge security (WAF, DDoS protection), optimize CDN performance, and handle DNS management.
  • Actively participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems to help prevent future issues.
  • Implement security and compliance best practices across infrastructure, including IAM, network security, container security, and SOC2 alignment.
  • Monitor and track service reliability using established SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
  • Reduce operational toil through automation and utilizing standardized platform patterns.
  • Assist with cost optimization efforts, including monitoring cloud spend and network egress efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to contribute to a strong, high-performance engineering culture.

Please note this is a sample of what you’ll be doing. This job requires you to be able to adapt to change quickly in order to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Your duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

What You’ll Need:
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles (more experience considered for senior-level placement).
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • AWS infrastructure and core services
    • Kubernetes (EKS)
    • Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar)
    • CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Cloudflare or a similar CDN/edge platform (handling CDN, WAF, and DNS).
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation and operational tooling.
  • Experience supporting production systems with high availability, performance, and security requirements.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (routing, load balancing, security groups, NACLs).
  • Familiarity with SRE principles and operational excellence (such as service health monitoring, logging, and alerting).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across application and security teams.
  • Consistent, reliable high-speed internet access.
  • Dedicated, quiet workspace free from distractions.

Nice to Have:

  • Leadership & Direction: Experience leading platform engineering initiatives, setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, or driving cross-team initiatives.
  • Advanced Networking: Deep experience with complex AWS networking (Transit Gateway, multi-account architectures, and private connectivity).
  • Platform & Tooling: Experience building or operating internal developer platforms (IDPs).
  • Advanced SRE & Observability: Hands-on experience defining SLIs/SLOs, managing error budgets, and working deeply with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Compliance & FinOps: Familiarity with SOC2 or other regulated environments, as well as experience owning cloud cost-optimization and efficiency initiatives.
  • Emerging Tech: Exposure to AI-assisted operations or intelligent automation tools.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Location & Commitments

  • Full-time, direct-hire, 100% remote role
  • Open to candidates residing in and legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Not open to applicants residing in: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Washington D.C.
  • Core hours: 8 am–5 pm EST, Monday–Friday
  • Some flexibility is required during busy seasons or critical “right-now” moments
