  • Exerts technical influence horizontally—up and laterally to fellow seniors, and down to the team.
  • Acts as a mentor to DevOps and engineering team members; share knowledge and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to increase system resiliency.
  • Implement technical direction around infrastructure, cloud, networking (BGP), and automation strategy.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, demonstrating strong customer empathy and responsiveness to incidents.
  • Own and improve standard operating procedures and system documentation.
  • Research, prototype, and implement new technologies across cloud, virtualization, and hardware platforms.

What you will have

  • Strong Linux systems administration background with a deep understanding of how Linux interacts with hardware (CPU, memory, disk, networking).
  • Advanced proficiency in scripting and automation using Ansible, Bash, Python, Packer, and Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, IAM, VPC, etc.) and provisioning tools like Terraform and Packer.
  • Experience with datacenter operations including racking, stacking, and remote system management.
  • Proven ability to manage and configure systems at scale with zero-touch provisioning approaches.
  • Experience managing monitoring systems and developing custom dashboards for observability.
  • Solid understanding of networking within a linux environment (Router -> Switch -> Server -> Virtualization -> Linux -> Service) ; BGP and DNS experience is a plus.
  • Passion for operational excellence, security, and performance.
  • Ability to self-manage, communicate effectively, and collaborate with diverse technical teams.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kentik, Splunk, or similar network visibility and observability platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools and pipeline architecture.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new languages as required.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs following coding best practices.
  • Understanding of release management processes in large-scale environments.

Benefits

  • Generous time off policies
  • Top shelf benefits
  • Education, wellness, and lifestyle support
