What you'll do

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release, and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. You have a background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations. Your experience in programming helps to script installation, configuration, and provisioning. You will employ industry Continuous Delivery patterns and collaboratively work with other members of our team to achieve successful continuous delivery solutions. You are also responsible for mentoring the junior team members. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to impart knowledge effectively to junior resources.|
 

Responsibilities
  • Designs and provisions core GCP infrastructure components (VPC, networking, GKE, etc.) using Terraform.

  • Works on refining existing AWS “Fleet” modules to ensure they align seamlessly with GCP.

  • Troubleshoots performance and networking issues, optimizing for cost and scale.

  • Maintains and enhances the CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Enterprise, Terraform Cloud, ArgoCD).

  • Automates deployment workflows and ensures consistent, repeatable deployments.

  • Collaborates with developers to streamline onboarding and resolve build/deployment issues.

  • Serve as a technical mentor, providing guidance and best practices across the team.

  • Practice: Drive DevOps program initiatives. Lead secure tech implementation. Direct DevOps implementations to be aligned with planned roadmap and standards.

  • Partner: Partner with developer teams to create shared solutions for DevOps needs across IDS. Ensure that the DevOps tools are secure and used in a secure manner. Collaborate and investigate to understand developer needs and use-cases.

  • Measure: Implement methods to measure the capabilities of our toolkit, to drive continuous improvement

  • Drive and enable adoption: Maximize value derived from the toolset by increasing knowledge across IDS of capabilities and how to leverage the services and technologies.

  • Follow standards: Follow principles and standards for DevOps based on anticipated and repeated needs across projects. Document and advocate these principles, guidelines, patterns, and methodologies while ensuring they are well understood and adopted.
     

Requirements and technical skills
  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline and five (3) years of relevant experience OR at least seven (5) years of relevant experience

  • Proficiency in English and excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Proven experience with either Amazon AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Experience managing Linux (any distribution) and/or Windows operating systems

  • Good knowledge and usage of version control particularly Git (Github /Bitbucket)

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD Practices and Technologies like Jenkins and TeamCity

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform and Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager templates

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems 

  • Strong advocate of security principles and tools
     

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in software development, any programming language such as Python, Ruby, Java, .NET 

  • Experience with Modern Authentication technologies  (OIDC, SSO, SAML, Federation)

  • Experience in building and supporting solutions both for serverless and server-based infrastructure in Amazon AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments
