Instrument partners with ambitious companies to create brand experiences that drive real change. We’ve built this as a place where people can do the best work of their careers, thoughtfully and sustainably. Designers here work in focused, multidisciplinary teams alongside strategists, writers, creative technologists, and producers. Shared ownership and high standards define how we work.

We’re looking for a Senior Designer with a strong web focus and a deep understanding of brand. This role centers on crafting expressive, scalable digital experiences. It requires someone who can translate brand into the web with clarity and intention, balancing storytelling and systems thinking to create work that is cohesive, expressive, and extensible.

The work spans product-driven, marketing, and editorial web experiences, at times intersecting across these modes. It requires careful attention to UI/UX and how users move through, interpret, and engage with an experience. Clear hierarchy, thoughtful interaction, and usability are fundamental. Experience partnering with product teams and bringing product thinking into the web layer is highly encouraged, particularly when shaping how product narratives are communicated through digital experiences.

Success in this position means shaping work from concept ideation through final implementation. In partnership with strategy, site architecture and content frameworks are defined with clarity and intent. In close collaboration with technologists, ideas are realized with precision. Meaningful ownership of component systems and brand assets ensures the work scales and translates seamlessly into build.

Above all, you bring ambition and curiosity about where digital experiences are headed - with a clear point of view and a drive to push the craft forward.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver strategic design solutions across brand and digital experiences.
  • Partner with strategy to shape site architecture, content structure, and narrative frameworks.
  • Translate brand foundations into scalable, well-documented web systems and component libraries.
  • Define and evolve UI/UX patterns that strengthen clarity, storytelling, and usability.
  • Use prototyping to explore and validate interaction ideas, ensuring narrative, usability, and craft evolve together.
  • Produce brand assets and artifacts that support implementation across digital touchpoints.
  • Integrate product thinking into web experiences to better connect with users.
  • Partner closely with development to ensure thoughtful, high-quality implementation.
  • Account for accessibility, performance, and scalability throughout the design process.
  • Present work clearly, internally and externally, articulating intent and impact.
  • Elevate craft and set a high standard across projects teams.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience designing brand-forward digital experiences, with clear ownership and live launches in your portfolio.
  • Strong foundation in visual design, hierarchy, typography, and UI/UX.
  • Fluency in interaction design, with comfort prototyping to explore, validate, and refine direction.
  • Ability to balance expressive brand moments with scalable, extensible systems.
  • Experience collaborating closely with strategy and technology partners.
  • Solid understanding of the design-to-development process, including handoff and VQA.
  • Fluency in contemporary digital workflows, with curiosity to experiment with new tools and technologies when they meaningfully advance the work.
  • Clear communication skills, a distinct point of view, and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and stakeholders.
  • A high bar for the work, shaped by ambition, curiosity about where digital experiences are headed, and a clear sense of responsibility for their broader impact.

Pay Range

  • The expected pay range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 for our base US Region 3*. We have three regional pay ranges that are adjusted for cost of living (US1 +15%, US2 +7.5%, US3 Base), learn more about our pay philosophy and cost of living adjustments
