The Opportunity

Join a team that’s shaping the future of power transformer design. At Hitachi Energy, we’re looking for a passionate and innovative engineer to lead the development of advanced 3D mechanical design tools. This role is a key driver in our North American Engineering team’s mission to automate and optimize design workflows using PTC Creo. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help harmonize design standards across multiple manufacturing sites. Your work will directly support our commitment to engineering excellence and sustainability.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Develop and maintain parametric 3D models and drawings in PTC Creo
  • Automate design workflows using Creo tools like Pro/PROGRAM, relations, and notebooks
  • Deliver updates, patches, and enhancements in response to engineering team needs
  • Collaborate globally to align tools with platform standards and best practices
  • Perform FEA simulations and integrate analytical models into design tools
  • Lead usability and performance improvements across sites
  • Provide training, documentation, and support for engineering teams
  • Support the rollout of Windchill PLM tools
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in power transformers
  • Advanced proficiency in PTC Creo
  • Strong understanding of DFMA principles and transformer manufacturing processes
  • Experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or Creo Simulate
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where the role is based
