Senior Design Lead – Food Preservation North America and Global Multi-Door & Side-by-Side (MD & SBS)

This position will be based in the HQ Charlotte, NC, hybrid work policy model.  

All about the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Design Lead to drive Design in food preservation for North American consumers and businesses while also leading global Multi-Door and Side-by-Side (SBS) projects. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of food preservation experiences by strategically aligning design with category ambitions, consumer insights, branding, and emerging trends.

The Lead Designer will lead multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence. This role requires an ability to integrate industrial design, user experience, and technological advancements into holistic solutions that enhance the consumer experience beyond physical products, incorporating accessories, consumables, and services. Additionally, the candidate will positively influence innovation pipelines, technology roadmaps, and branded design identities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects focused on food preservation for North American consumers and businesses, ensuring cutting-edge and user-centric design solutions.

  • Oversee Multi-Door and SBS projects on a global scale, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and differentiation.

  • Spearhead initiatives that enhance the food preservation experience, establishing and maintaining deep connections within the innovation ecosystem.

  • Develop strategic approaches to leverage design in alignment with category ambitions and consumer experience objectives.

  • Guide multi-disciplinary design teams, setting clear goals and fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and openness.

  • Articulate design concepts that extend beyond physical products to encompass accessories, consumables, and service offerings.

  • Influence and contribute to the innovation pipeline and technology roadmaps, ensuring a forward-thinking and consumer-driven approach.

  • Co-define and implement branded design identities across projects, ensuring consistency and alignment with company vision.

  • Stay ahead of industry and consumer trends, translating insights into impactful design decisions that enhance market relevance.

  • Lead the design process with a holistic, iterative, and consumer-centric methodology, ensuring excellence in execution and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, or a related field.

  • 8+ years’ experience in design /projects

  • 3+ years of experience leading design teams/projects.

  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary consumer-led innovation process and projects from concept to market launch.

  • Remarkable strategic thinking with the ability to integrate design with business objectives and innovation goals.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design visions effectively.

  • Proficiency in design software and methodologies, with a strong portfolio demonstrating innovative and consumer-focused designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, or a related field.

  • Experience working in a global environment with cross-functional teams.

  • Passion for understanding consumer needs and behaviors, translating insights into compelling design solutions.
