The Senior Database Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database systems to support the company’s applications and data management needs. This role ensures the performance, security, and reliability of databases while collaborating with development teams to optimize data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain database architectures, schemas, and objects (tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, triggers).
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure database security, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place and regularly tested.
• Collaborate with application developers to implement efficient data storage and retrieval solutions.
• Perform data modeling, data integration, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, including performance, connectivity, and data integrity.
• Maintain and enforce database standards, best practices, and documentation.
• Mentor junior database developers and provide guidance on database design and development.
• Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements to current systems.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in database development, design, and administration.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Experience with database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and BI tools is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
