Join team "Best Coding Squad" to develop solutions related to data pipelines, GenAI, predictive models (pricing, risk selection, claims, fraud, etc.), and full stack applications.
As part of the Best Coding Squad (BCS), you will be part of an hybrid team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers developing data-centric solutions for our business stakeholders. We build, test, and maintain technical architectures for applications, data pipelines, databases, analytical/reporting dashboards, and predictive model workflows.
An ideal candidate is self-motivated to learn at a proactive pace. A growth mindset is key as we're constantly working with new and emerging technologies
Responsibilities
- Design & develop technical solutions as part of a SCRUM team in a scaled agile environment.
- Work in a dynamic and exciting agile environment with Scrum Masters, Product Managers, and team members to develop creative data-driven solutions that meet business and technical initiatives
- Work directly with data scientists to provision data for model development
- Interact with internal stakeholders and the core development team to refine the product backlog
- Automate and execute all levels of testing (unit, integration, and regression)
- Design and develop solutions to support ingestion, curation and provisioning of complex enterprise data to achieve analytics, reporting, and data science
- Support custom applications through their entire lifecycle
- Proactively avoid and eliminate technical debt
- Champion engineering excellence
- Foster learning/growth mindset and model it for others
- Demonstrate open minded and collaborative approach to creating innovative technical solutions
Technologies
- Programming Languages: Python, Typescript/NodeJS
- SQL & relational database concepts
- Service Architecture: Microservices, Rest APIs, JSON, Swagger
- CICD Tools & Concepts: GitHub Actions (preferable) or equivalent experience such as Bamboo/Jenkins/Azure Dev Ops
- Data Pipelines: Glue, Lambdas, Redshift, S3
- Additional AWS Services: RDS, CDK, Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS
- (nice to have) Machine learning pipelines: MLFlow, AWS Sagemaker
- Bachelor or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
- Generally 5+ years of professional experience
- Highly proficient in data engineering languages and tools, and strong proficiency in general programming languages and frameworks; ability to develop on multiple platforms
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills Extensive knowledge of the following: IT concepts, strategies, methodologies
- Versed in diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts
- Extensive knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared data engineering concepts
- Business function(s) and I/T industry business issues; extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives
- Extensive understanding of agile data engineering concepts and processes
- Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker
- Extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements
- Extensive understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery
- Strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required
