Job Description:

Position Overview:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in,

  • Designing, developing, and optimizing our data infrastructure and building ETL using SSIS and Azure Synapse Analytics /Azure Data Factory.
  • Building Reports using PowerBI with SQL and DAX. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, scalability, and accessibility.
  • Your expertise in Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, cloud technologies, and Tabular Models and ETL processes will be essential in driving our data initiatives forward.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in building efficient DAX and SQL queries for the SSRS and PowerBI reports.
  • Expertise in designing and working with Tabular models.
  • Expertise in any of ETL tools though SSIS or Azure Data Factory experience is preferable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and manage ETL processes utilizing SSIS and Azure Synapse Analytics/Azure Data Factory.
  • Building PowerBI and SSRS reports using SQL and DAX queries.
  • Integrate data from various structured and unstructured sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
  • Data Integration along with performing transformations with PySpark Notebooks.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data pipelines and integrations.
  • Optimize data processing workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Implement and enforce robust data governance policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Implement and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure GIT and Deployment Pipelines to automate and streamline data engineering workflows.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documents and technical specifications.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data engineering practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with on-prem Microsoft BI tools or cloud data warehousing solutions like Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Strong experience writing efficient DAX and SQL is must.
  • Strong understanding of modern data lake architecture, medallion architecture, parquet file, JSON files, etc.
  • Experience with modern data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Experience in creating backend APIs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analytics skills.
