We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced (Senior) Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable data systems, partnering cross-functionally, and elevating data maturity across an organization. You will design, build, and maintain our data pipelines, models, and infrastructure while ensuring high reliability, data quality, and strong alignment with business needs.
What You'll DoSet Vision & Partner With the BusinessWork closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Operations, and Finance teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
Assess our current data environment, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to support long-term growth.
Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers.
Build and manage our data models and transformations using dbt with strong testing and documentation practices.
Implement best-in-class data governance, quality checks, lineage, and observability.
Write production-grade Python/SQL, debug complex issues, improve pipeline performance, and ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Work across multiple data sources and systems, integrating internal and external data as needed.
Contribute to architectural decisions, technology selection, and data engineering standards.
Help mentor and support future data team members as we scale.
Advocate for data-driven decision making across the organization.
Build metrics and dashboards that support critical business needs, including operational insights, clinical analytics, funnel conversion, cost modeling, and financial reporting.
Ensure data requirements are incorporated early into product and operations workflows to reduce rework and improve adoption.
Partner with Security/Compliance to ensure data processes meet SOC2 and HIPAA-adjacent requirements.
5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience designing and maintaining scalable, reliable data solutions.
Strong proficiency with dbt and modern ELT workflows.
Extensive experience with ETL/ELT techniques (batch + streaming).
Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda), GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage), or Azure.
Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or Java.
Deep SQL proficiency across relational and NoSQL systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into straightforward business insights.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with ambiguity.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence systems and process improvements.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with data governance, quality frameworks, or metadata management tools.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized workflows.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK).
Experience supporting SOC2 or HIPAA compliance.
Experience with BI tools (Metabase, Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Experience preparing datasets for ML use cases.
