The Senior Data & Governance Analyst will play a foundational role in establishing enterprise data governance and analytics practices at TTX. As governance capabilities are in their initial stages, this role will help design, pilot, and grow pragmatic governance approaches that scale over time, balancing structure with business enablement.
Responsibilities:
- Help design and implement foundational data governance practices, starting with priority domains and high‑value datasets.
- Partner with emerging Data Owners and Stewards to pilot governance concepts such as data ownership, certification, and data quality definitions.
- Develop, monitor, and enforce formal data governance policies, standards, and procedures enterprise-wide to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
- Define standards for authoritative sources and certified datasets, evolving them as adoption grows.
- Support the formation and maturation of data governance forums, roles, and decision‑making processes over time.
- Develop a phased governance roadmap, balancing immediate business needs with long‑term enterprise goals.
- Assess current data and analytics practices to identify initial governance focus areas.
- Establish data quality metrics, conduct data quality audits, and lead remediation plans for data issues.
- Collaborate with Data Stewards to document data lineage, maintaining a data catalog, and ensuring metadata quality (e.g. via tools like Microsoft Purview).
- Establish measures for governance adoption (e.g., usage of certified datasets, clarity of ownership, reduction in duplicate reporting).
- Educate technical and business teams on the purpose and value of data governance through workshops, documentation, and real‑world examples.
- Function as a change agent, helping teams adopt governance practices without disrupting delivery.
- Build shared understanding of data definitions, metrics, and certification concepts across the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in information systems, data management, business administration, computer science, information science, or a related quantitative field [or equivalent work experience] is required.
- 3 - 5 years of data governance experience (in data management or data quality roles). Working in early-stage or evolving governance environments is a bonus.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations, hands-on experience with data governance software (e.g., Purview), and relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, CDMP) are desirable.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Diligence and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with governance concepts and business analysis methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data management or visualization tools is a bonus.
