What we’re looking for:

Beam is looking for a Senior Data Analyst who exemplifies a passion for data analysis and storytelling and can be a strong partner to both business and technical teams.  Data is one of our largest assets at Beam, and this role is crucial in delivering valuable insights that will empower the organization.  This person will work with business stakeholders to better understand our business challenges and become a subject matter expert in our data to produce the most beneficial recommendations. This role will be cross functional in nature, working with stakeholders across Beam on projects ranging from sales territory optimization to financial reporting and everything in between.

Ideally you may have a background in accounting or finance and be ready to hit the ground running helping us mature our data structures and dashboarding around this functional area.

What you will do:

  • Exemplify a passion for data and possess the ability to transform it into actionable insights
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders  to consult on business challenges
  • Analyze large data sets and glean insights to deliver to stakeholders autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Build automated dashboards and reporting using tools like Looker
  • Have high attention to detail and the ability to ask clarifying questions to ensure the accuracy of analysis
  • Display a high level of business acumen and strong communication skills to deliver effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Collaborate with other analysts on best practices to uplift team knowledge and performance
  • Generate and interpret descriptive & predictive statistics to make business recommendations
  • Be tenacious in learning our business’s opportunities and delivering analyses that point in a clear direction

What skills will help you be successful:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics
  • BA/BS degree in a quantitatively focused discipline; Accounting or Finance background is a plus
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience building data visualizations using BI tools like Looker
  • Exceptional communicator and storyteller with strong client-facing data presentation skills
  • Analytical, rigorous, and creative approach to solving difficult problems
  • Experience with data modeling concepts is a plus
  • Experience with DBT is a plusExperience with Git, is a plus
  • Experience with predictive analysis and statistical methods is a plus
  • Experience using R or Python is a plus
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

Beam offers a competitive base salary paired with an attractive variable compensation structure.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
