The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst is a highly experienced credit professional responsible for complex financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessment. This role partners closely with Credit Products Specialists, Relationship Managers, and senior leadership to evaluate loan opportunities, recommend risk mitigations, and drive credit policy improvements. The Senior Analyst is expected to mentor junior analysts, lead due diligence efforts, and provide expertise on credit structuring for high-value commercial clients.Pay Range will fall between $70,451 - $118,452 annually.Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $0.00 - $0.00
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Credit Risk Management & Portfolio Oversight:
- Collaborate with Credit Product Specialists with financial analysis for complex commercial loan portfolios.
- Lead in the preparation of financial projections, repayment analyses and /or enterprise value analysis as appropriate.
- Assist with the preparation of periodic client reviews (quarterly as required and annually).
- Conduct detailed market and collateral analysis.
- Generate and review risk ratings, ensuring alignment with credit policies.
- Monitor financial trends and make portfolio recommendations based on client, microeconomic, and macroeconomic factors.
- Evaluate covenant compliance and loan performance.
Deal Structuring & Underwriting:
- Provide expert support in structuring complex credit facilities.
- Partner with Credit Products Specialists and Sales in negotiating deal terms with clients.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of credit approval memoranda to senior management.
- Assist with credit due diligence and ensure loan documentation accuracy.
- Work closely with legal counsel to review and assist with the negotiation of credit agreements.
Leadership & Mentorship:
- Act as a mentor to junior analysts, sharing expertise in financial analysis, credit structuring, and risk assessment.
- Lead credit training sessions and workshops.
Special Initiatives & Policy Development:
- Drive improvements in underwriting processes and portfolio management strategies.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts and contribute to credit policy enhancements.
- Implement data-driven improvements to credit risk assessment tools.
- Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions related to assigned portfolio.
- Analyzes and resolves problems pertaining to assigned portfolio.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum experience required: 5+ Years in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management.
- Extensive experience with financial statement analysis, credit structuring, and portfolio management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and mentoring experience preferred.

- Strategic Risk Management – Ability to evaluate macroeconomic and microeconomic trends, industry risks, and borrower financial health to anticipate and mitigate potential credit issues.
- Advanced Credit Structuring – Strong proficiency in structuring credit facilities, negotiating terms, and recommending risk-mitigating strategies.
- Decision-Making & Problem-Solving – Skilled at identifying credit concerns, proposing actionable solutions, and making sound recommendations to senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data and recommendations to executives, credit committees, and external partners.
- Regulatory & Policy Expertise – In-depth understanding of commercial credit policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Technology & Data Utilization – Proficient in financial modeling, credit risk software, CRM systems, and advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, financial projections, data visualization).
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
- Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
