Our dynamic Capital Markets Legal group is looking for a seasoned Senior Counsel to join the team. This attorney will be a trusted advisor and act as lead counsel for complex financing transactions, including securitizations, forward flows and warehouse lines that facilitate sustainable solutions for homeowners. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to structure, negotiate, and execute transactions that are critical to GoodLeap’s mission and continued growth. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, business‐minded lawyer who can navigate complex issues, provide practical advice, and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deal Execution & Negotiation – Lead negotiations and execute capital markets transactions, including securitizations, warehouse facilities, forward flows and other structured financings. Draft, revise and negotiate key transaction documents.
  • Strategic Legal Guidance – Advise senior leadership on financing strategies and structures, risk allocation, and market trends. Provide practical solutions that balance legal risk with business objectives.
  • Cross‐Functional Leadership – Collaborate with Finance, Business Development, Treasury, Compliance, and Operations to align legal strategy with business goals. Serve as the go‐to resource for legal and regulatory considerations impacting
  • Mentorship & Team Development – Provide practical guidance to junior attorneys and paralegals, helping to develop their skills and professional growth.
  • Process Improvement – Proactively identify and implement improvements to form documents, internal policies and procedures and the transaction management processes.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience practicing law, with at least 5 years focused on capital markets, structured finance, or securitization (law firm and/or in‐house experience).
  • Strong background in negotiating, drafting, and closing complex financial transactions.
  • Understanding of securities, banking, and consumer finance regulations.
  • Ability to provide clear, business‐oriented legal advice under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly proactive, resourceful, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Compensation: $185,000 - $250,000 annually
