The Need  

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Senior Coordinator, Church Engagement. 

 

The Sr. Coordinator, Church Engagement position is responsible for implementing operations, processes & procedures for church engagement across the U.S. This position works across teams to provide support for all church-related projects and events. The Sr, Coordinator also supports relationships with strategic churches in the U.S. and may assist in identifying ways to engage their congregations. This position requires strong attention to detail, being solutions oriented, and working with confidential and time-sensitive information in a fast-paced professional environment  

 

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Head of Mobilization and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.   

 

Responsibilities 

 

Church Product Management:   

  • Under the leadership of the Mobilization team, assist in developing, managing and updating new and existing church products (LPGs, Freedom Sunday, etc.) for external audiences;  

  • Equip external constituents to utilize church products and serve as the main point of contact for questions and support;  

  • Work across IJM teams to gather feedback about existing and new church products, ensuring alignment with IJM brand standards.   

Events:   

  • Coordinate strategic, large-scale church engagements, in partnership with IJM teams, from event design to execution;   

  • Partner closely with donor facing teams to effectively utilize IJM donors to champion on our behalf within their churches:  

  • Assist in the design of strategic calls to action for church engagements to acquire new donors and partners;   

  • Develop event project plans, timelines, speaker briefings, marketing materials, presentations and close-out reports for all church engagements;   

  • Work directly with members of IJM leadership to equip them for involvement at strategic church events;  

  • Identify and coordinate volunteers and/or IJM staff present at church/mobilization events;   

  • Travel occasionally to manage and support IJM’s presence at key church events. 

Relationship Management 

  • Manage the Church Mobilization inbox, in addition to other external form responses, responding to each inquiry in a timely and professional manner;   

  • Manage and collect content for quarterly church newsletter, collect feedback and identify new ways to engage churches through online content;   

  • Onboard new church partners into existing portfolios (i.e. Partner with a Field Office)   

  • Partner closely with Directors of Church Mobilization to identify, cultivate and transition new church relationships as needed;  

  • Monitor, track and report on IJM church events in the U.S. 

 

Qualifications:   

 

Education & Experience  

  • 3-5 years of project, program or operation management or comparable experience required  

  • Experience working with church and/or Christian audiences preferred  

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (communication, marketing, etc.)  

  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines  

Technical Competencies  

  • Demonstrated understanding of Teamwork project management platform  

  • Familiarity with CRM systems  

  • Event and marketing experience preferred  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills  

Non-Technical Competencies  

  • Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed;  

  • Self-starter with strong initiative;   

  • Disciplined with priorities;  

  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-awareness;  

  • Willingness to take on new challenges.

*What is a statement of faith?
