“Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”
- Coco Chanel
The internet does not have a content problem. It has a judgment problem. And with the rise of AI, the cost of publishing has collapsed while the cost of trust has only increased. The next generation of great content marketers won’t be defined by how much they ship, but by their decisions around what to ship.
Pulley is looking for a Senior Content Program Strategist to define and mature our content system. This person will bring a deliberate, principled, narrative-driven approach to what we create - ensuring our content is concise, differentiated, and worthy of the founders and teams we serve.
🚂 About PulleyPulley’s mission is to make it easier for anyone to start a company. We believe that more startups should exist, and that founder-led companies are more successful over the long term. Starting a company is hard enough. Managing equity shouldn’t be.
Pulley helps founders and growing teams understand, manage, and optimize their equity with modern cap table management tools built for today’s startups. Pulley is growing quickly with over 8,000 customers including startups like Linear, Runway, Fathom, and Roam. We’re backed by top investors including Founders’ Fund, Stripe, General Catalyst, Caffeinated Capital, 8vc, Elad Gil, among other great angels.
We’re a remote-first company and we’re building a thoughtful, high-performing marketing organization that values first-principles thinking, experimentation, good judgment, and performance. We care deeply about the quality of what we ship, not just the volume - and we’re excited to work with people who feel the same way.
🌟 About the RolePulley is looking for a senior content program strategist to own and grow our content program across formats, segments, and channels. This role requires strong storytelling instincts, strategic rigor, and sharp editorial judgment. You’ll shape our narrative through what we create, why we create it, and how it shows up in the world.
This role is responsible for building a deliberate, high-signal content system that compounds over time. You’ll define our core content pillars, guide the work produced by our content agency, and ensure everything we publish is intentional, differentiated, and genuinely useful to founders and growing teams. You’ll also steward Pulley’s overarching narrative, ensuring consistency and coherence across touchpoints.
Content doesn’t end at publication. This role owns distribution strategy - determining where content lives, how it’s adapted across formats and channels, and how its impact is measured across audiences. Distribution should be considered at the brief stage, not retrofitted after the fact. You’ll use both data and qualitative feedback to refine strategy over time while maintaining a high bar for clarity and taste.
This is a senior individual contributor role with significant ownership and influence. You’ll collaborate closely with Growth, Product Marketing, Design, and external partners, and you’ll be trusted to exercise judgment - knowing when to push, when to cut, and what to build from scratch.
🛠 Responsibilities:Company Narrative & Story Stewardship- Help define and evolve Pulley’s overarching narrative - ensuring our content reflects a clear, consistent point of view about founders, ownership, and building companies.
- Translate company strategy, product direction, and market positioning into cohesive stories that resonate across early-stage and growth-stage audiences.
- Maintain narrative consistency across touchpoints, ensuring that what we publish reinforces who we are and how we think - internally and externally.
- Own Pulley’s content strategy across segments and formats, defining clear content pillars and themes that guide what we create and for who.
- Translate company priorities, product strategy, and customer insights into a cohesive, long-term content program that compounds over time.
- Regularly assess our content portfolio to ensure it remains focused, differentiated, and aligned with Pulley’s positioning.
- Serve as the strategic and editorial lead for our content agency, setting direction, providing thoughtful feedback, and holding a high bar for clarity, usefulness, and differentiation.
- Occasionally produce or heavily shape high-impact pieces directly when strong judgment or domain nuance is required.
- Provide thoughtful editorial feedback on long-form and short-form content, ensuring consistency in voice, narrative, and point of view.
- Ensure our voice remains consistent, confident, and aligned with Pulley’s values.
- Own Pulley’s content distribution strategy, determining where content should live, how it should be adapted across channels, and how to build with a destination in mind - not retrofitted after publication.
- Ensure content is designed for modern discovery, including traditional search and AI-driven retrieval, applying evolving search and AI trends thoughtfully rather than reactively.
- Extend core ideas into multiple formats (short-form written, visual, video, or audio) in partnership with design and external collaborators to maximize reach and resonance.
- Identify opportunities to responsibly leverage AI tools and automation to enhance content production, distribution, and discoverability.
- Define success metrics for different content types and audiences, balancing qualitative and quantitative signals.
- Analyze performance data to understand what’s resonating and what’s not. You should be able to use those insights to improve strategy over time.
- Share learnings and recommendations with the broader Growth and Product Marketing teams to inform future bets.
- Work closely with Growth, Product Marketing, Design, and other partners to ensure content supports broader go-to-market efforts.
- Help translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives that are accessible to founders and operators.
- Act as a thoughtful steward of Pulley’s voice, advocating for clarity, restraint, and good judgment across the organization.
- 7+ years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, editorial leadership, or related roles in a B2B, SaaS, or startup environment.
- You bring strong editorial judgment and taste, and you’re comfortable deciding what guiding a strategy of what to publish in service of clarity and focus.
- You’re a confident writer and editor, but you don’t equate effectiveness with output volume. You know when to write yourself and when to guide others.
- You have experience partnering with content or SEO agencies, and you know how to set direction, give clear feedback, and hold a high quality bar.
- You’re fluent in modern content discoverability, including traditional SEO and emerging AI-driven search and retrieval, and you approach new trends thoughtfully rather than reactively.
- You think deeply about distribution: where content should live, how it should be repurposed, and how different formats serve different audiences.
- You’re comfortable using data to inform decisions, refine strategy, and measure impact, while trusting your judgment when the data is incomplete.
- You work well across functions, translating complex ideas into clear narratives and collaborating effectively with Growth, Product Marketing, Design, and external partners.
- You thrive in environments with ambiguity and ownership, and you’re motivated by building durable systems rather than chasing short-term wins.
Equity management is a highly sensitive category. Our customers trust us with information about the ownership, value, and future of their companies. Clarity, accuracy, and credibility are essential. The content we publish plays a meaningful role in building that trust long before a customer ever talks to sales.
Last year, we proved the business value of a focused content strategy, driving meaningful organic growth and influence across the funnel. This role exists to build on that momentum by bringing sharper judgment, clearer prioritization, and a more deliberate approach to what we create and how it’s distributed.
We have strong buy-in from the Growth team and executive leadership and expect this role to accelerate Pulley’s content program, building over time, supporting growth, and building long-term brand trust.
