About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Payments Transformation Senior Consultant to join our growing team. This role necessitates deep knowledge of payment systems such as ACH, SWIFT, and real-time payments. This is a “hands-on” delivery role in which you will partner with clients to assess their payment processing needs, design tailored solutions, and participate in end-to-end transformational projects leading workstreams or small projects within the overall project/program. This is a client-facing, advisory role requiring exceptional communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Act as an advisor to clients, understanding their business strategies, operational challenges, and payment processing objectives.
  • Participate in providing strategic recommendations for optimizing payment operations, leveraging systems like SWIFT, ACH, SEPA, and emerging real-time payment networks.
  • Align payment solutions with clients’ long-term goals, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder alignment sessions to gather requirements and drive consensus on project priorities.
  • Participate in the integration of payment platforms with client systems, including ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022, and custom APIs.
  • Ensure all configurations meet compliance standards, including NACHA, SWIFT security, PCI-DSS, and regional regulations.
  • Assess and redesign payment workflows to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Assist in guiding clients through change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new payment processes and technologies including providing training and knowledge transfer to empower clients’ teams post-implementation.
  • Develop and execute testing strategies for end-to-end validation of system functionality and payment accuracy.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to payment system integration, including fraud prevention and security vulnerabilities.

What You'll Bring with You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years Banking domain experience in the payments field as a business analyst, project manager or similar role.
  • 4+ years working with payment networks, including ACH, SWIFT, SEPA, and real-time payment systems.
  • 4+ years project management experience managing workstreams and associated resources and delivering on tight timelines.
  • Prior experience in a management consulting environment (Big 4 or similar) with strong consulting mindset, including strategic problem-solving, data-guided decisioning, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Deep technical knowledge of payment platforms, financial messaging standards (ISO 20022, NACHA, MT/MX), and API integrations.
  • Experience with SaaS or cloud-based payment platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Certifications in payment systems, such as Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or SWIFT Certified Specialist, are a plus.
