The Red Hat Financial Services Consulting team is seeking a Senior Consultant, OpenShift. In this role, you will earn the trust and confidence of customers’ engineering and operations teams through in-person and remote interactions by implementing and troubleshooting technical solutions that meet their functional requirements. You will play a vital role in executing the technical vision developed by cross-functional teams from Red Hat's product and sales organizations. As a Senior Consultant, you will serve as a hands-on subject matter expert to ensure that solutions are implemented reliably and that customer teams are enabled for long-term success. This is a remote position with potential travel to customer sites across the United States or Canada.

What you will do:
  • Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals through hands-on technical execution.

  • Contribute to project documentation, including deployment guides, automation runbooks, and ticket/bug management.

  • Mentor customer teams by providing practical, hands-on guidance and sharing best practices for building and operating robust container platforms.

  • Execute the adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve infrastructure uptime and time-to-market.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to platform networking, storage, and application integration.

  • Implement solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods.

What you will bring?
  • 5+ years in a related technology position, e.g., consulting, site reliability engineering (SRE), or platform operations.

  • 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or Kubernetes.

  • 3+ years of experience with a combination of Helm, Terraform, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM), Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS), or similar technologies.

Ideal Candidates Will Have Experience with:
  • Modern DevOps & GitOps: Deep experience with ArgoCD, GitOps principles, and OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton).

  • Developer Experience: Hands-on work with Red Hat Developer Hub (Backstage), OpenShift Dev Spaces, and the creation of custom Operators.

  • Migration & Infrastructure: Proven experience with container and/or virtual machine migrations to the OpenShift platform, including the use of MetalLB.

  • Legacy Management Tools: Knowledge of traditional configuration management and provisioning tools including Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Red Hat Satellite.

  • Networking & Security: Thorough knowledge of cloud software-defined networking (SDN), load balancers (F5), and security tools like ACS.

  • Storage Systems: Experience with storage technologies like FiberChannel, iSCSI, or Software Defined Storage.

  • Cloud & Virtualization: Knowledge of Virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and public cloud providers (AWS, Azure).

  • Experience working in Financial Services or Insurance

The salary range for this position is $118,600.00 - $195,680.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
