This role requires in-depth hands-on experience with Ansible by Red Hat and a strong familiarity with tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, and other configuration management platforms. A solid grasp of modern DevOps practices and tooling is expected.

This is a remote position with occasional travel to customer sites and can be based anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, ideally within proximity to a major airport. Candidates must reside in a state or province where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex Ansible automation solutions for Financial Services customers, translating business needs into scalable technical designs.

  • Architect resilient, secure, and reusable automation frameworks and playbooks that address specific client use cases.

  • Provide expert guidance on effectively leveraging Ansible Automation Platform and related Red Hat offerings to achieve operational excellence.

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, helping clients navigate strategic decisions and operational challenges tied to automation.

  • Develop, test, and deploy robust Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections that cover use cases such as infrastructure automation, application deployment, compliance, and security orchestration.

  • Integrate Ansible with key enterprise platforms, including public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization stacks, networking infrastructure, and third-party tools.

  • Facilitate discovery sessions, assessments, and workshops to uncover automation opportunities and shape detailed delivery plans.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues across diverse customer environments.

  • Mentor junior consultants and customer teams on automation best practices, GitOps workflows, and DevOps methodologies.

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to a diverse range of audiences, from engineering teams to C-level stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and delivery success.

  • Contribute to Red Hat’s internal knowledge base by creating reusable assets, playbooks, and reference implementations.

  • Stay up-to-date on AAP advancements, automation ecosystem trends, and emerging enterprise use cases.

  • Obtain and maintain at least two (2) active Red Hat certifications relevant to your role.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ansible Expertise: Deep experience with automation tools, including Ansible (required).

  • Legacy Tooling: Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt, and PowerShell.

  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting and infrastructure-as-code languages, specifically Python, YAML, and Bash.

  • Project Delivery: Proven success implementing solutions from design through delivery as part of project teams.

  • Consulting Experience: Previous consulting experience, ideally within large-scale transformation or automation-focused initiatives.

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Experience building or integrating CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.

  • Containerization: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms.

  • Business Acumen: Solid understanding of the business case for automation in complex IT environments.

  • Security Fundamentals: Working knowledge of security principles across infrastructure, OS, cloud, and hypervisors.

  • Team Collaboration: Comfort working across distributed teams and open-source ecosystems.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to speak confidently with technical teams and executive leadership.

  • Growth Mindset: Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and evolving with industry best practices.

Desirable Skills (Bonus)
  • Certifications: Active Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) credentials.
