The Senior Cloud Architect will manage AWS migrations, design complex solutions, and provide technical guidance to clients for seamless cloud transitions.
Protera is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Cloud Architect with a focus on AWS Migration to join our growing team. The successful candidate will possess expertise in AWS and on-premises workload migration, with a deep understanding of Cloud Adoption Frameworks adapted for AWS environments, dependency mapping to set up migration move groups to AWS. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping our customers modernize and optimize their IT infrastructure through seamless and efficient cloud migration..
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to develop a deep understanding of their existing on-premises infrastructure, applications, and business requirements, and recommend the optimal migration strategy to AWS.
- Leverage AWS's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) to provide best practices, guidance, and tools for cloud adoption and migration, ensuring alignment with customers' business and technical goals.
- Architect, design, and implement complex, large-scale migration solutions using core AWS infrastructure services such as Amazon EC2, AWS Lambda, Amazon VPC, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), and AWS Application Migration Service (AMS).
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for migration, including AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, AWS Backup, AWS Application Migration Service and third-party tools.
- Utilize dependency mapping techniques and tools to identify and group interdependent workloads, applications, and services, enabling the creation of efficient migration move groups to AWS.
- Assess clients' workloads for cloud readiness and recommend application refactoring or modernization where necessary to improve performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in the AWS cloud.
- Develop comprehensive documentation and migration roadmaps that outline the end-to-end migration process, including resource planning, timeline, and milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and product owners, to ensure smooth migration and integration of workloads, applications, and data.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to clients during the migration process, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to AWS with minimal business disruption.
- Continuously stay up-to-date on emerging AWS technologies, best practices, and trends to provide effective and innovative solutions to our clients.
- Act as a subject matter expert within the company and engage in knowledge-sharing activities, presentations, and workshops.
- Able to lead workshops with customers and its key stakeholders.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud computing, with at least 6 years specifically focused on AWS architecture and solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in leading successful large-scale AWS migration projects, including data center migrations from on-premises to the AWS cloud.
- Deep understanding of AWS's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and its application in real-world scenarios.
- Strong understanding of core AWS infrastructure services, including but not limited to Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, and AWS Networking to include VPCs, Routing, Layer 4 and Layer 7 services.
- Proficiency in automation using scripts and other cloud native services(Powershell/Bash/Python) or CloudFormation Templates ect
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
- Deep hands on experience of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and configuration management tools, such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform (required), and Ansible (nice to have).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Certification is required.
