The Team

Upstart’s Learning & Operational Excellence team empowers employees with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to perform their job. We drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement through impactful learning experiences, process optimization, and strategic change enablement. 

As the Senior Change Manager at Upstart, you will serve as a change leader in the Servicing organization, driving successful implementation of operational and process changes that impact teams across the business. You will lead large scale initiatives from beginning to end identifying the change strategy and ensuring operational readiness. You will also refine best practices and ensure change efforts align with business goals. 


Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones. 

Travel Requirements - As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.


How you’ll make an impact:

  • Own large change initiatives with organizational implications by delivering an impact assessment to ensure stakeholder engagement  and  coordinating training, communication and resource updates.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, L&D, Continuous Improvement and Operational Stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical readiness and operational adoption.
  • Monitor adoption, utilization, and proficiency metrics by stakeholder feedback and survey results to identify and execute improvements in the change process. 


What we’re looking for: 

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • 5+ years of Change Management or Organizational Development experience.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels of leadership.
    • Experience conducting change impact assessments, defining change strategies and delivering change plans.
    • Experience using stakeholder feedback, utilization data or KPIs to evaluate change. 
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Slack and project or workflow tools.
    • Experience working in a high-growth, tech-forward environment, specifically in financial services or operations. 
    • Deep understanding of how change integrates with project management, L&D, and compliance functions.
    • Experience evolving the  Change Management function.

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.  The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k).

$111,300$154,000 USD
