Job Description

About the Position:

We are seeking a data-driven Apple News Senior Business Analyst to optimize and analyze the performance of our content on Apple News. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of Content, Analytics, and Commerce, using data to drive content strategy, engagement, and revenue growth. As part of our team, you will work closely with finance, marketing, editorial, and strategy teams to evaluate how our content performs on Apple News, providing insights that help maximize both engagement and revenue.

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About the Position’s Contributions:

35% Performance Analysis & Insights

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of content on Apple News.
  • Track key KPIs such as click-through rate (CTR), conversion rates, revenue per click (RPC), and engagement time.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve content reach, engagement, and monetization.
  • Identify trends, user behavior, and best-performing content to guide future editorial decisions.
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to share performance insights with key stakeholders.

35% Optimization & Strategy

  • Work closely with the Apple News teams, including marketing, editors, product, finance and strategy teams to refine content based on data insights.
  • Identify high-performing Apple News content and recommend topics, headlines and placement optimizations.
  • Conduct A/B tests on headlines, content, and templates to improve engagement and revenue.
  • Stay on top of Apple News algorithm changes, trends, and platform updates to ensure our content strategy is optimized.
  • Provide Apple News data and insights for sale event planning (Prime Day, Black Friday, etc.) in collaboration with the strategy team, looking at past years’ performance and recent trends
  • Monitor the competitive landscape on Apple News and provide strategic recommendations based on competitor trends, including templates, Apple News push notifications, images, and more

30% Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to inform strategy with real-time data insights.
  • Work closely with the affiliate and partnerships team to optimize revenue-driving opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Apple News and external vendors where applicable.
  • Provide regular presentations and reports to internal stakeholders, translating data into clear, actionable recommendations.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in data analytics, finance, or related role.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of Apple News reporting, Looker, Chartbeat, Parse.ly, or similar analytics tools is helpful.
  • Strong understanding of content engagement metrics and revenue performance analysis.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for commerce-driven content, digital media, and audience engagement.
